Surely the fact that in a straight sprint to our 6 yard box he had a head start over sibbick due to being in an offside position is relevant? I thought it was all about phases of play and sprinting to the box has to be one phase of play
Proud of the lads tonight. To lose to a club in the knock out stages of the Champions' League by the odd goal does us great credit, especially when it was their only effort on target. Our players gave us everything. For me, I have no intention of criticising any of our team. Proud to be a Red tonight.
The big lad Dike looked that half yard slow. Possibly fitness not up to speed yet but in his defence we were beginning to tire and he was not getting the service
I don’t think so. The phase of play is the pass to James, which Abraham wasn’t involved with. James has to get in front of Abraham to make the subsequent pass and it to be onside, so in theory the defenders should be able to get up to the same line.
We did pretty much everything right all over the pitch, battled really well and pushed them all the way, just that issue of not being able to score that’s creeping in the last month or so. Can’t complain about a 1-0 loss to a team like Chelsea from me after a very good performance and effort
Ive got no problem with them not knowing the rules and not being able to keep up but I just don't know where women get off thinking they're allowed to do men's work in the first place. The sad thing is that Mr Ellis will be at home making her supper for her while she's out doing his job. How humiliating for him
Did you not watch the coverage? They clearly showed it with a line drawn. Not sure how you can disagree. It looked off in real time, I thought so too, but replays showed it wasn’t.
Seems a decent lad, more pleased with the goal-line clearance than the goal. From the main camera position the goal looked well offside - and the linesman wasn't up with play. The replays suggest that he was level with the other lad when he passed it, so I'll accept that. A shame that deekay never got into the game.
We have seen tonight that our pressing game can work against anyone, on a negative point if we learnt to play more accurate with the ball when we won it **** me we would take some stopping. Bringing it back we have just narrowly been beaten by a team of world class players who we made look very ordinary for most of the game.
They took the final graphic off pretty quickly when it seemed to show Abrahams hand at least offside , don’t forget it a BBC Chelsea fan drawing the lines on the screen
