It's all about her gender

 

The post states I'm all for gender equality but if you can't keep up with play then don't do the job. Male or female. I couldn't give 2 ***** who runs the line. Male, female or ******* ET as long as they do the job they are paid to do

 

If it were a requirement to be bang in line at all times there'd be no linesmen. Maybe Usain Bolt but I doubt he'd fancy it.

 

Then why mention her gender at all if you don't care?

 

I'm not asking them to be bang in line. Within 10 yards would be nice

 

They make a decision based upon hundreds of hours of experience as to whether they think the player offside. Her judgment was correct.

 

I just find it ******* ironic that you are quoting my post because I mentioned 'she' when there's people mentioning 'ironing boards' and the thread begins with 'putting lippy on'

If a penalty had been awarded, Sibbick wouldn't (at least shouldn't) have been sent off. He made a genuine attempt to play the ball.

I still think it is tough to call and looks offside to me and there is no doubt she is too far behind play to make a credible call on it. That’s got nothing to do with her sex, it’s just an observation.

I’m all for VAR for this very reason - the job of an assistant referee is to an extent not possible. You need to be as fast as the footballers and also have the subhuman ability to be looking in two places at one time. I know a lot of folk moan about it’s use for offside but I think it’s perfect for it - you’re either offside or you’re not

 

This is why men shouldn’t be able to referee. Too busy thinking about porn to focus on the game.

 

Or you can practise seeing incidents and making decisions from an imperfect angle. Which is what they all do.

 

The 3 bbc presenters were bang in line. The linesman was. Every single person watching thought it was a great tackle.
