With the way we play now I'd have thought set pieces would be an area where we are affective.
I'm absolutely baffled at some of our decisions from free kicks and corners. I don't understand this near post flick that we keep aiming for. We try it from almost every corner and it never really comes off.
Mowatts free kick late on confused me too. He's more than capable of banging that in the top corner but he played it into the box, why? So frustrating.

One good corner first half that did something different. Low ball to Chaplin running short off near post.

Was glad to see a thought out set piece with that one as we do get so many.

If that one went in it would be getting shown for 50 years. It's was straight off the training ground. Disappointed that we didn't make more from the 7 corners we had.

The delivery is frustratingly hit and miss. One Palmer free kick late on was dire but then Mowatt can usually be relied on to provide something decent.

The delivery is ok more often than not. We seem more interested in wrestling with opponents than trying to score.
Same at our end, we faff about with zonal marking then players don’t head the ball away when it goes in their zone.
I’m hoping a pre-season with Ismael will help sort it. He’s had very little time to do much with them on the training ground. Been a game every third day since he arrived

Although the delivery can be a bit hit and miss, I think our main problem is we just don’t seem to have anyone who attacks the ball with any real intent or desire. Rather than feeling we pose a threat from set pieces, I often feel they expose us to counter attack when the inevitable unchallenged clearance comes.

We seem to have a lot of free kicks given against us at corners too because we are usually trying to block the keeper or a defender rather than just putting it in and see what happens. The other one that annoys me is the short corner routine when then fail to even put a cross into the box and usually turnover possession whilst every one waits in the box. The one exception being the one played into Chaplin in the area. That was unlucky and a great block by Victor.
