The first step is that it should be free to all. I would hazard a guess that the money it costs would be lower than the cost to the economy of sick days every year anyway.
I can't even imagine how that feels or how this god awful year has stirred up those feelings even more. What I would say is that regarding covid you have always come across really well even when we disagree. There are one or two who have made awful claims about anyone wanting lower restrictions but as far as I remember you haven't done that. You've argued and debated strongly but you've never done that. For what it's worth I think we all have the best of intentions, we just see different angles and different approaches.
I wish more would but it really should be a government scheme. Would save an absolute fortune. We've got one tool at work who is completely against vaccinations of any kind. He believes that EVERY vaccine has a tracking chip in it and that it has chemicals in it that can be used to control you (but he doesn't know how). In fairness though he's also failed his driving theory test 6 times and thinks that it's unusual if you aren't a millionaire by the age of 30. And yes that's what he actually said. He's 25 and is currently in his overdraft even after being paid so I can't wait to see his face in 5 years time
He is honestly the person you hear about who asks for his pound back (is it £2 now?) if there's a delay in paying him his winnings
Ahh well if he doesn't like being tracked fairplay to him living without the internet, smart phone etc....
I had flu vaccine this year. Why? Because it was offered to me, I’m fit but I’m edging towards a vulnerable age. Didn’t hurt in the slightest and I had no side effects. Don’t know if it worked but I’ll have one each year going forward.
He actually pays for three lots of internet because he entered a 2 year contract with let's say bt, about 6 months later he got offered virgin so signed up with them and never tried to end the bt contract. He then moved home just a month later (he knew he was moving when he signed up with virgin) and now he's with talk talk at his new place but paying for all three. Oh and two phone contracts for similar reasons
I wonder how many times the stuff we predicted and were labelled ‘conspiracy theorists’ for have to come true before people acknowledge that they’re having their rights and freedoms eroded.
There’s a memorable thread about masks in the summer where the vast majority were absolutely adamant they would only be for a few weeks.
Was there? I’d love to read that. I can’t remember anybody saying masks would only be for a few weeks. As far as this thread goes, is saying a vaccine or a test is required for certain things until the majority of the population are vaccinated the same as compulsory vaccines? They seem different in quite a few key ways to me...
Did Boris say until the majority were vaccinated? I was under the impression he was referring to a new normal. He was quite specific previously in saying that these were restrictions he expected AFTER the majority were vaccinated.
I don't get the aversion to the vaccine passport. If I want to travel to various African or South American countries I must show a certificate of yellow fever vaccination. If I'm passing thru those countries enroute to many others, I have to show the same certificate. My choice, vaccine or don't go there. Same goes for a covid vaccination certificate, you've got the choice, have it or don't travel, your choice. Why should I suffer because of your choice not to have a vaccine, the consequences of your choice should affect u alone, not those of us who have no choice in your decision.
Does also say this If its temporary and only for really large gatherings part of me can live with it if it means we can open up. If it still means attending these events with social distancing in place then I don't care anyway. If infection levels drop sufficiently then hopefully it would become a waste of time and money anyway.
It isn't just vaccines and testing we have to help us all. We also have drugs like the one Boris cannot even pronounce.
I've no problem with countries insisting on them in order to enter their country, that's their call. But having one to be allowed to watch a movie or go to a pub is a different kettle of fish
