If true I hope Soton take their own sales model into consideration and stump up multi millions as they took for the sales of their players such as Ox, Walcott, Bale etc and practically the full Liverpool squad a few seasons ago.

    Crack on ..........

He will have better options than that. He just needs to bide his time

Styles isn’t a wing back though. That’s how impressive his form has been.

Hes a central midfielder for me. If Mowatt leaves we need a LWB as a replacement because his central midfield replacement is already at the club in Styles.

He’s adapted amazingly well to the new position, but that’s not where he’ll play when he moves up the divisions.

He'd be great in a system with a pressing #10 role.

With the sell on we got around ten million for Stones. With Styles we should be getting that up front before add ons. He's also going to have better teams than those two interested in him.

Callum Styles is still only 20, he hasn't found his best position because he doesn't have one. This lad can play anywhere across the middle/wing backs he's that good - seriously good

Agree that versatility is 100% one of his strongest traits, but I do think he's a midfielder

With regards to this, do we actually know this? He played a few games for us in central midfield, but I can't remember anything outstanding. Having said that, he was very young and inexperienced at the time.

Maybe LWB will turn out to be his best position. If Mowatt went down with serious injury, I'd be tempted to keep Styles where he is, as him and Brittain are key to how we play.

I think Mowatt will leave sadly
I would replace him with Styles and slot Jordan Williams in at wingback

I don’t think Styles is quite ready for a step up just yet. Very good player and when he plays well we seem to do well as a team, but still some improving to do before he plays at that level.

His first appearances where he started showing what we'd been nurturing for a couple of years came from a more central like position. His ability to get up and down the field for 90 minutes, but not having to be tested for pace, surely suit the middle of the pitch? He's the absolute box to box midfielder who will stop goals one minute and fire a shot in the next.

If Mowatt was out I'd be bringing in Jordan Williams and moving Styles central with Palmer. We'd be short on experience but we'd have two potentially brilliant midfielders. His lack of out and out pace (although he's far quicker than people on here have suggested) limits his opportunity to go up the divisions at LWB. For me anyway.
