“They don’t want to go up”. Definitely a lack of ambition fro the fruit and veg man, the promotion came from absolutely no where and wasn’t in any strategy or plan that’s for sure.
Genuinely amazed me how many of our fans didn’t think he was championship standard, he could do a bit of everything, play up top on his own, in a two, two footed, worked the channels, superb in the air, good athlete, good injury record, can’t remember him having a muscle injury, always scored goals etc
Whilst I agree with all of the above, there’s a bit missing. Did anyone ever say ‘he runs his blood to water’, or he’s non stop and fantastic off the ball? As I see it, and I’m no expert, we don’t have room for a centre forward who isn’t key in the press, who doesn’t chase down defenders to stop them having time to think. I’m grateful for what he did, but I genuinely don’t see how he’d fit into the system we now play.
Loads of positives, really rated him and we gave him away, but his finishing was a little patchy for us, he should have scored more than he did.
I thought he suited a pressing style. He was happy putting a shift in working the channels & fighting with centre back, I could be wrong but he always seem to do a lot more running than Woodrow & I’m certain he’d be able to press more than Adeboyejo
May sound wierd, but I am really pleased that Keiffer is playing well. Another example of our development strategy. But after that incident at Gillingham, I am just happy that he recovered and is playing again. Good luck lad, your goals helped get us back into the championship and for that I for one am very grateful.
