Also worrying if we used the same metric going forward we will be back into lockdown next Autumn/winter when the cases rise again (which they will)

What happened to this? Same thing as that Chinese bloke shaking like a shitting dog presumably. I think they think we have memories like goldfish.

This is what Boris the proven liar said when we locked down in January

Cynic in me thinks that by keeping the country restricted for longer than is actually necessary then it masks the failings in the NHS and in their Brexit trade deal - keep activity at a fraction of normal levels and shaky systems can cope. I assume they hope that once we expand activity then hospital admissions are down and the ports have figured out their logistics.

Vaccines were seen as our way out of this mess. Now the press with their leaks are mentioning rule of six inside not being until July, which means no chance of families celebrating indoor gatherings of say 20+ people. Companies changing contracts to make having a jab part of your contract. Being tested to enter venues even if you've had a jab.

2021 doesn't look to be much better than 2020.

I'm shine being born in march or April and facing the realisation that you will have spent two birthdays in a row alone under house arrest

2021 is worse because 2020 was emergency measures to get us by till a vaccine was available. 2021 is long term and logically permanent measures with absolutely no reason behind them

My birthday is the end of March, it was a bit of a novelty first time round and we had great weather. Would rather not spend a second birthday under lockdown though!

Early May for me and while I'm not one for huge Birthday celebrations last year was thoroughly depressing.

Me too. Partner asked me this morning what I want for my birthday, I couldn't think of anything so I just said "Go out to the pub with a few friends." :(:(

It's got to happen.. I work with the NHS and what will happen is that people who don't have the vaccine will have less priority in treatment to people who have had the Vaccine which makes for better patient outcomes if there are underlying problems.

Sounds reasonable, if you’re also going to give ‘less priority’ to people who smoke, and people who drink, and people who eat red meat, and people who have sex with other people, and....

It's common sense to have the vaccine. I work with the NHS and people with underlying issues which have had the vaccine will be deemed as less of a risk for treatment. We are now seeing many other aspects of manual treatment for CPR has now almost disappeared in favour of mechanical CPR which has resulted in increased death rates by 28%.This is the reality now and will be for the foreseeable future.

I’m not saying it’s not. I’ll be having it.

It’s also unspeakably unethical to force people into a treatment that they don’t want, and in many cases don’t need. Individuals have sanctity over their own body. Seriously, if that’s not an ethical red line for a reasonably principled person I honestly don’t know what is.

And by the way I think the NHS have many difficult questions to answer both in their treatment of the chronically ill and also their appalling record on nosocomial infection.
