Just seen the stats, Brizzle only had ONE attempt on goal, (though it was on target), whilst ours was 15 attempts, 5 on target They are in a real nosedive!
Only 10th, but 4 points off 6th. With a game against Derby in hand, that’s only one point in real money. Very winnable games to come too..
We seem to play a team each week that's spent a fortune then for the first quarter of an hour we're camped in their half. It seems unreal recently, watching game after game where we're obviously the better team. And where the other team have far fewer chances than us.
Bristol are in big trouble. Can't believe how poor they were. I expected a reaction today but there was nothing. We were thoroughly professional. Not the prettiest game and not our best performance, but it is great at the moment that I watch a game thinking that as soon as we score, we have the game won. They wouldn't have scored if they played all night. Collins was bored out of his tree.
On the subject of fans in sports grounds, I'm still confused about why India were allowed to admit 15,000 a day for the cricket. Is there no Covid in India? Seems unlikely. We're at the point now (surely) where there is no sense playing in empty grounds. Even if we are only allowed 50% with no away fans that would let every home fan in. Get on with it Johnson you buffoon!!!
Collins came down from his tree and played a shakily great sweeper role. We need him doing this cos he's better than Walton at it.
Promotion winning teams with experienced Championship players regularly perform like we did today. They take control of the game from the off and stop the opposition playing, either by keeping possession, like we did in the first half, or winning every tackle like we did in the second. I've seen us play much nicer football than we did today, but it's a long time since I've seen us look so dominant and so comfortable at this level. Good teams look comfortable at 1-0. They don't panic, they don't feel the need to chase another goal or retreat into the final third, they control the match and play out the game. Today, that was us.
The India match puzzled me. 10 days isolation before we travelled, 10 days when we got there, live and train in a bubble, then let 15k fans in to breathe all over you. And fans throwing the boundaries back to the players, whereas in empty grounds in SL the balls were disinfected before going back in play Go figure
Helik was great at the back again how pleasing it is to see opposition target men look so frustrated when nowts working for em.
I am absolutely loving this season, just a shame we cannot e there to witness it. The team spirit, fight and intensity of this team is amazing.
Another good result, I know they’d lost 6 games on the bounce but regardless, an away win at Bristol city is never very certain. The run continues and the lads must be getting more confident and comfortable with each other the longer this form continues. Well done reds
Not to mention their hysterical behaviour, both in the stands and on the pitch. I hate watching cricketers screaming like banshees every time a ball goes past the bat but, of course, it's common in that part of the world. The crowd were even worse, screaming their heads off almost every ball, whatever happens. I suppose they're just glad to be back watching their team but it's definitely turn the sound down time when we play teams like that . I may have missed it but did anyone on the commentary teams mention the fans being admitted, and why I mean. I heard them say that they were there once or twice but I don't recall hearing any explanation as to why they were there. Makes no sense at all.
this team gets better and better winning at grounds that we never usually do!! hats off to VI and backroom staff for the work off the field and the boys doing the business on the pitch!! just wish i could be there with them to enjoy it first hand!! DARE TO DREAM.........U REDS!!!!
