I’m not saying we’re going up at all. But genuinely when do we start to believe that this may happen, spoke to a pal earlier in the week and said 6 points from these two games and were in the mix. Low and behold, 6 points. Stoke and Millwall next, 6 points from them and we’re bang in it. Get them beers open lads! Another wonderful three points!
Considering how we were bullied out of it last season by Stoke, and how they are currently above us, I would say this will be a very stiff test in midweek. But we've proved we can do the unexpected so why not another win? A 4-0 would help the GD as well, but I suppose 1-0 will do
It's getting tricky to stay level headed. We now have a way of playing that seems to cause serious problems for every team in the league. The football isn't that pretty but it's proving highly effective and we're now in a place where we are, with three points from the game in hand, one point off the play offs after 30 games. We're not where we are by accident. I don't think we quite have what it takes but....just maybe.....
Im looking at all our remaining games as 6 pointers. Whoever we beat, we'll finish above. It might be rhubarb but its what im going with
Lose the next 2 which is quite possible, they're the teams 1 above and 1 below us, and there'll be some on here claiming we won't get another point and we're going down. Win these next 2 and I'll start believing in playoffs, reach them and it's a lottery.
Seeing the newbies on Sunday gave me the hope that summat special may be on the horizon. Outside chance.
If Stoke still play like Stoke have always played then it may be one game where the tactics we employ don't work. If they just boot it long then we won't be able to close them down in their own half, win the ball back and begin attacks from deep in their territory. Doesn't mean we won't beat them, but they're not the ideal opponents for our system.
This time next week. Stoke and Millwall 2 very tough fixtures get 4 points out of these 2 with a game in hand and the 6th spot is definitely achievable.
This is very strange territory for us of late, the majority on here stated before a ball was kicked that a mid table finish would be nice, now here we are playing some good football as well as matching the more physical in the league, talking playoffs. Being a Barnsley supporter is a rollercoaster of fortunes, I want to really enjoy the ride, but, I'm expecting to veer off the rails at any moment. I must say that the appointment of VI, although I'd never heard of him, was a stroke of genius by the owners and it's not that long since I was calling them all the names under the sun. And so the Big Dipper rolls on.
Absolutely stonking win today. I don't care that City were on a shocking run, we get nothing down there usually and hadn't beaten them at all since 2012. After that and breaking the Hillsborough hoodoo in the same season, it's hard not to get giddy. But there's still plenty of games to go and we could easily slip back down. First and foremost, let's get to that 50 point mark.
I mean, if we win at Hillsborough, Loftus Road, Ashton Gate, and away to Coventry, all in the same season, then we will go up. I am certain of it!
