A win against Stoke would be a great achievement. They’re easily capable of doing what Cardiff did but much better.
Stoke have been on tv recently and seemed to me to be no better than Cardiff by any means. Just saying.
Im just happy to see us bloodying the noses of clubs that spend far more money than us and feeling very comfortable in our lofty position. Having said that, I don’t think we’re anywhere near full tilt just yet. Just imagine if our passing and potency went up a notch to match our undoubted effort and togetherness.
I agree to an extent, but the other reason we press teams is to make them kick it long rather than build attacks. With three tall centre halves it doesn’t really trouble us. I can see it being a low scoring game with chances at a premium. Whoever is the most clinical will win.
Last year I loved the optimism of believing we could get out of the bottom 3 after a crap start. Then I enjoyed the post lockdown optimism of believing we could chase a revised target. Now I'm just enjoying the optimism of not being involved in the crud at the 5h1t end of the stick. Anything else will be a bonus, but keep this up and who knows? But remember, it could be looking much rosier had we not had that 3 game losing run last month. And we are capable of another. It's hard to stay grounded and excited in equal measure.
Stoke's away form is OK, but they draw a lot of games so I'd be hopeful of a good result. In between a few tricky ties we've some very favourable ones, especially at home like Brum, Derby and Wednesday. Still much to do though before considering a play off position.
when the season began I was more than happy to finish somewhere in the middle 8. I still would be happy with that. But I have to say I am getting more than pleased with way we are shaping up, who knows. Maybe I am a " Daydream Believer"
Last season, after 30 games, we’d just lost to Charlton and were 22nd and 7 points from safety. If you’d said “at this stage next year we’ll be 4 points off the Championship playoffs with a game in hand” you’d have been called delusional. It’s been a magnificent performance and it’s such a shame we can’t be there to show our appreciation for their efforts
Say what you want it’s a forum, They’ve won 3-0 comfortably today despite Luton shading possession ( BBC Stats) They have some Wiley experienced campaigners. From what I’ve seen of them and read they are a better team than Cardiff hence why I think it will be a great achievement to beat them. Just saying.
With the way we're playing and picking up points I can see us getting that last Champions League spot.
If we're in the same position after the pigs game, but the gap to 6th is 2-4 points get a wedge on us.
