He's a fantastic manager. Their squad over the past few seasons has been middle of the championship in terms of quality, at best. He did fantastically to almost get them promoted, then absolutely excelled to get them promoted when I was sure it was a one off. Then what he did last year was proper fvcking mental when you look at the players he has. David McGoldrick ffs. Their system has been found out to a degree this season but they don't have the players to do anything different. Their recruitment has been **** - £23m for Brewster when Leeds paid £17m for Raphinha who looks 10x the player.
Don't understand any negativity towards them or the manager on this thread, other than jealousy. They've had a magnificent crack at the premier league and will come back down a much stronger club than when they went up. The players they've spent on will be superstars in the championship, and like others have said, if Wilder stays they'll be well set to go back up.
I guess we'll see. I just think the players they've invested in will excel at this level. To he fair, Bournemouth are in a much better position squad wise than they were before they went up.
Barmy. He’s hardly been found out. I think if you asked any Blades fans they’d say O’Connell, Fleck & Henderson were their best 3 players last season. They’ve pretty much lost all 3 this season with how much Fleck & O’Connell have missed. Gone from winning lots of games by a one goal margin to losing most games by a one goal margin. £20m fees are peanuts by premier league standards but it’s not really about fees anyway. Wages are what make the difference & I’d guess they’ve got the lowest wage budget in the league & probably by a distance.
If getting a team up into the premiership and managing to keep them up for a season and securing their future for years to come is classed as found out then I hope big Val gets found out.
Bournemouth sold a lot of their top performers though in fairness, best part of £100 million when Frazer and King are added in players left, with virtually nothing spent coming in.
