Yes, I did exactly this at the beginning of last season. Beth made an adjustment on my on-line account and it charged me accordingly. Great job
But a household cannot be a season ticket holder, It requires individuals to be season ticket holders. Individuals knew the score when they purchased.
It was made clear thought that it couldn't be guaranteed and as someone else has said I think it was pretty obvious to most that the likelihood (for at least the majority of the season) was very low.
Struggling to see your point here vs. what I said? Individuals did know the score, which is why I don't think anyone should go down the refund route. I was just acknowledging that for some households it was a bigger investment and show of support, and that it might be nice if there was something in return for them for that level of support. I'm saying that as a single season ticket household who wouldn't benefit at all.
I wonder when season tickets for next year wil go on sale? I'll be getting one straight away, but didn't have one this year
The main reason I bought one was the knowledge that the club needed us to save it as the people running the club would not given that they run is as an investment vehicle. I’m not saying that to be critical of the owners. It is what it is. In the circumstances they have gone a good job balancing the books helped by the change of manager. So no refund for me Loko is right about multiple season tickets in the same household not something I’d thought of but would be nice to offer them something. I’m hoping that the club take a sensible attitude to renewals and pricing as let’s face it we are still unclear about next season.
They need to be clear exactly what we will get next season. Not the subject to EFL approval like the line about away games access via iFollow for reds reserved plus members and also advise if games that usually would be included aren’t going to be. Aka the Rotherham away game being being classed as Sat when it was played on a Tuesday night. Finally once they go public that we intend to stay at Oakwell is another question that needs to be included or with a clause that fans can get refunds should they decide to groundshare elsewhere.
I won't be asking for a refund because it was a very reasonable price and a gamble that I chose to take. Last season was different, I bought a ticket to all the games and didn't get them so I asked for a refund and then used that money in the club shop but this year I did know the score and still chose to buy. If someone is struggling financially I'd advise them to ask themselves would they have wanted/needed a refund if they'd sat in their seat each week? If the answer is yes because their financial situation is so bad then contact the club and explain the situation. People like Beth and Dane are very reasonable people who I'm sure would try to help. If the answer is that no they don't really need the refund but they just like the idea because they feel they didn't get their money's worth then I'd say that they should remember they made a choice and they obviously don't NEED it despite their situation. I hope however that the club acknowledges the support that fans have given them this year and that we all took a gamble which ultimately didn't pay off when they come to announcing prices for next year
Can anyone think of any other service or business where there would be uniform agreement not to ask for a refund if a billionaire business owner had taken a few hundred pounds for a service they hadn’t delivered? You just can’t imagine a thread on here about Virgin and people accepting they booked a flight etc etc. Funny old game as someone said.
I would pay the same again next season even if we can't attend. I also hope I can keep watching away Saturday games on ifollow. I know we can watch away midweek games already but I have enjoyed seeing every game this season.
But virgin would give shareholders the profits. Difference in this case, we are investing in a football club, that we know the profits of are invested back in the team, and not public plc shareholder pockets
They have delivered the service they said they would though. They said they would deliver iFollow games at a minimum and live football if it was allowed. It hasn't been allowed and they have provided the iFollow games as promised. The official club line stated what the deal was and they stuck to that. A club employee hinted that refunds might be available if no live games were allowed but it's not their decision and that wasn't written as part of the sales pitch.
and then you’d get hard working folk defending the billionaires who hadn’t even paid for the plane from the previous owner.
I know I've had a glass of wine but ... what? They sold me access to iFollow, I've had access to iFollow.
I'm confused. The service advertised was for a seat in the ground if legal and a live stream of games if not. As it was not legal to sit in the ground I received a live stream for every home game as promised. Which part of the advertised live stream didn't they deliver?
