That's football, all about opinions but I thought he looked their most dangerous player in the first half. No service and good defending nullified him though.
Brilliant that from start to finish. Nothing better than watching all of them cuddle Dike after his goal.
OH. MY. GOD. Organised. Well drilled. Everyone knows their job. Cohesion. Hunger to win. Bodies on the line. Battling Barnsley. Full on commitment for the shirt. Val says he wants us to be unpleasant to play against. Well....the team are certainly fulfilling that objective. We're not pretty to watch but .....playing ugly and winning is better than playing pretty and not winning. Amazing.
Wasn’t the greatest game ever but playing in that wind against Stoke, it was never going to be. I don’t remember them really troubling us, barring a few crosses coming in. Great win. 4 wins in a row and unbeaten in 6 in the league, incredible stuff. Very glad for Dike too!
Well done Reds! A thoroughly deserved 3 points and a pleasure to see us physically dominate a side that usually does exactly that to us. So much to enjoy tonight. Two great goals and an amazing all round team effort. MoM is going to be a really difficult one... again. I don't know how anyone finds time to post on here while the game is on - I couldn't take my eyes off the screen!
Impressive stuff against a physical and direct Stoke team who were a different kind of challenge. Whilst they caused us some problems they never really looked like scoring. We weren't so fluent up front but a couple of good goals and it's another good win. Pleased for Dike too. Not had many goal scoring opportunities, but finished that really well.
The discipline is such a difficult thing to achieve, because it must have been hugely tempting to pile forward when the opportunities arose. We were wasteful in possession, but I think this was a fair price to pay for keeping our defensive shape. At the end of the day, we took a deserved lead, and then it was up to Stoke to make the chances.
I didn't even get a glass until half time! I am quite wrecked now though. I basically never drink and then when I do it's only 5% wine, I think this was 11.5% and it was a very full glass to finish the bottle we started yesterday.
I have no idea why, but every time we win someone sets fireworks off near me. I don't think it has anything to do with it at all but it is every time and it's never any other time...
It was a professional win, from old heads on young shoulders. We played pragmatically, we got rid when we had to get rid, we played it around when we had to play it around. We took on shots whenever we could. Romal looked a little out of his depth, we put on Halme. Sibbick again showed his inexperience a little bit, so we brought on Solly to add more experience at the end.
To be fair I thought Darren Bond had a decent game this evening. Though he still looks like a villain from Sherlock Holmes.
