for the 1st time in years teams that play us are having to concentrate on stopping us playing and chalking **** on their tactics

What a hard fought win that was. Nevertheless, it WAS a win, the fifth on the bounce and takes us above fifty points by the end of February. The progress we've made this season is astonishing. We ground out a victory today, but Bialkowski was much busier than Collins when it came to saving shots. I've certainly no intention of criticising these players after the run we've been on, even if we were nowhere near our best.
Helik was my MOTM. A superb defensive performance, topped off by nearly breaking the net with his goal.
Well done, lads. I'm one happy bunny today.

    Brilliant battling Barnsley again.

That must have been one hell of a half time team talk from Big Val. We looked sharper, more aggressive and played with more bite in the second half. I'd keep Aapo in midfield.

This team does not mess about. Astonishing sequence of results. Great appointment finding VI. It's certainly not pretty but 5 wins on the trot is testimony to their effort and organisation. Strong leadership.

    Cmaaaaaaaaahn!!!!

Much better second half. Once again Val's subs had a great impact for us, he can do no wrong.

Every week it gets more and more exciting looking towards those playoff places. Whatever happens from here, it will be an incredible season but I'm dreaming of more playoff and Wembley glory!

Best win of the season. A really tough well organised Millwall team were a stern test and better than most we have played recently. Really great result. And 50
    Point Mark reached.

Better than those we lost to in the New Year?

Let's be reasonable - they were tough and well organized but they were miles worse than the better teams in this league - as evidenced by our results against such teams.

We were brought down to their level to a certain extent today.

And it was awful as a football match.

However it was terrific cos we won.

One of the best drilled sides I can remember seeing in a very long time. I was trying to think of comparisons and all I could come up with is that there's *some elements* of Crazy Gang Wimbledon about us, namely that everyone is totally committed to the cause and very well organised. Teams playing us know that before a ball is kicked they're not going to be given an inch of space and regardless of our actual form it's going to be really hard work. In fact you get the impression we're so well drilled that our form can be somewhat irrelevant, because without the ball we're so hard to play against. There's not much substitute for hard work and organisation.

I meant in our little unbeaten run. From Forest onwards.

that are the best drilled and organised we have played in a fair while. Like us getting the most of the players they have.

It was a great football match. Like 2 matched teams slugging it out. Play off possible, so don’t expect anything different. If we fall away, we’ll play pretty. Personally, I don’t think we’ve been as hoof as some think. Our game approach is not much different to Man City. Stop opposition playing, then play..

Right then. It's time for an argument about the precise definition of "recently".

I'm off to find an archaeologist as my first expert witness.....

I'm sorry. It was a great result. And exciting from a Barnsley fan point of view. Better cos we won.

But nobody in the history of watching football, from an impartial standpoint, would call that a great match.

They would have other words to describe it.

It was grim, but there's an element of gratification in seeing a Reds team that historically has had a soft underbelly winning games by organisation and determination. Their fans weren't impressed by their football. Not sure they realised (or other fans too) how they changed their tactics to avoid 'the press' but then ultimately found themselves out fought.

We do need to be better with the ball though.
