Do you think they read my other post when I questioned what they’d do without Chansiri and a stadium.... It doesn’t stop him charging them an absolute fortune to use it.... or just leave it empty though does it?
No I dont think it does owt like that. Just allows a status to be logged against an asset, which effectively protects it from being turned into something else. Pretty sure some talk was aimed at logging oakwell as a community asset too, but dont know if that ever happened
The outpouring of support for our local rivals on this thread has actually lead to an outpouring of tears from my eyes ..... Pmsl. Clever work ......
All joking aside...... do I want them to be relegated this season? Definitely. Do I want them to fall catastrophically into League 2 for a couple of seasons, getting a few spankings off Burton, Harrogate and Grimsby in the process? Well, it would be pretty funny. But would I take any pleasure in a feckless and unscrupulous owner razing the ground and putting them out of business? Not a jot. I have a lot of mates, ex-colleagues etc who support them as I lived in Sheffield for six years. They're all genuine Yorkshire football folk, just like us. We all know full well what it's like wondering whether we'll even have a team to support next year, and it's not nice.
I do know what it’s like to wonder whether I’m going to have a club... it’s awful. On the other side though, I don’t know what it’s like to take the p out of my local rivals by buying their star players with money I don’t have, so they can sit on the bench earning more than my rivals entire squad... I don’t want to either. But the massive seem to revel in the fact they did. And now wonder why they’re in deep. I don’t want them to fold, but wouldn’t mind seeing them struggle in league two for a bit, with other teams asset stripping any stars that they develop.
I guess every club has its share of fans who are total knobs, but I'd like to think the majority are likeminded folk who just want to see their club do well. They have no control over who runs it and this could easily happen to us. I don't want to see them totally combust but definitely want the likes of them and Derby to pay for living beyond their means in the same way Wigan and Bolton are doing now.
