There'll not be anywhere near that many that you can go to. We'll be limited to 4,000 for some of the season and none when we get back to winter and lock down again.

Absolutely brilliant announcement that. Great timing, great value, rewarded renewals. One question from me.

"Reds Reserved+ members will receive both of the benefits mentioned above, whilst also obtaining Barnsley FC related vouchers (value of £50) and a 21/22 replica shirt of their choosing"

Does anyone know if that is only for people who were Reserved+ last year? Or does it also apply to people who were Reserved last year, and renew this year with Reserved+

If all fairs well, Is it not 25% of stadium capacity. Up to a max of 10k ? If so that’ll make 5.6k near enough for us.?

    I think it's maximum of 4,000 up to a 40,000 seater stadium and 10,000 for over 40,000

I thought I'd read limited to 4,000, the 25% capacity being for venues of 40,000 and over. Can't say I'm positive on that though. Either way, a lot won't get to go.

    Not how I read it

    Taken from a report

The government says it will run a series of 'pilot' events in April and the English Football League (EFL) said it would be "engaging" with the government over the potential for a small number of fans to attend the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on 25 April.
If the pilots are successful, "up to 10,000 people or 25% of total seated capacity, whichever is lower" will be allowed in stadiums for sporting events, but not before 17 May.

There's zero social distancing from mid-June if the 'roadmap' goes to plan, isn't there?

Therefore in mid-August surely stadiums will be able to home as many fans as possible?

    Hope so anyway.

We'll get back in at full capacity next season. I'm certain of that.

It might get limited again if there's a spike, but I do believe at the start of next season or soon afterwards we'll be at full capacity.

Not that it matters, as we wouldn't all be able to attend anyway, but it's definitely 4,000 unless you have a stadium of 40,000 plus. Every article says this.
Here's one, but it's repeated in them all
    https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19...s-from-17-may-under-lockdown-roadmap-12226115

"Under the plans, smaller outdoor venues will be capped at 4,000 or 50% capacity, whichever is lower; and indoor sporting events 1,000 or 50% capacity."

Edit. Based on your reply above. Are you talking about play-offs here, or next season? My take on next season is that there are no restrictions when we kick off again.

No it isn't, it's for every venue, just read any article on the subject, literally any, they all say exactly the same.

I thought exactly the same as you jay because it's what all the articles said but after reading hooky fellas post I did a check and the gov.uk site now says that's it's 4000 or 50% for standing events and 10,000 or 25% for seated outside events which is definitely not what the articles said originally

Edit: it actually says the government MAY allow "special provision" for SOME events to allow up to 10,000 if the spectators can be safely distributed. I wouldn't be surprised to find that they say football fans can't be safely distributed so aren't given special provision.

Got a link, because I've just read 10 articles and they all said limited to 4,000 if the venue has a capacity of below 40,000. They patronisingly refer to them as 'smaller venues'!

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...ng-2021/covid-19-response-spring-2021#roadmap

    The relevant section is this

Some large events, including conferences, theatre and concert performances and sports events. Controlled indoor events of up to 1,000 people or 50% of a venue’s capacity, whichever is lower, will be permitted, as will outdoor events with a capacity of either 50% or 4,000 people, whichever is lower. The Government will also make a special provision for large, outdoor, seated venues where crowds can be safely distributed, allowing up to 10,000 people or 25% of total seated capacity, whichever is lower. In addition, pilots will run as part of the Events Research Programme to examine how such events can take place without the need for social distancing using other mitigations such as testing (see paragraphs 132 to 134).

The special provision part is the bit I think they will refuse to give to football matches though

So all being well, next season is at full capacity then, based on Step 4. IMO, any chatter concerned about play-off finals is shameful, and belongs on Owlstalk :)
