That atmosphere was absolutely electric. Imagine what it would be like for a Championship play off game.

God I miss Oakwell. I was too young to experience 97, and the only other game that comes close to that Walsall game in atmosphere was Chelsea in 2008. Hard to pick between those two.

What's the best atmosphere you've witnessed at Oakwell? I bet the Bradford promotion game was epic.

The atmosphere at the Bradford game in 1997 was brilliant, also the second half of the PL season in 1998, when we started winning games and thought we had a chance of staying up. Then beating Spurs and Man U in the FA Cup as well. Great nights and fantastic atmospheres

I thought the atmosphere at both the Walsall and Preston games during the 14/15 season was electric. People forget that Little Lee had us back in the play-off positions and we dropped back out of them again.

After that the atmosphere for the Huddersfield game where Marley Watkins equalised was great too.

Most of the Sheffield games. League and cup. Have been amazing from our fans side. Especially before we went all seater. 25k+ crowds. As a terrace fan. The noise from the ponty and paddock was electric.

I was nervous as hell too because I'd bought train tickets to London for the Final.

I always remember Huddersfield at home in the playoffs in 2006 feeling really full - I was a bit too young to really remember the prem and the playoff final in 2000, so I wasn't used to a crowd at Oakwell bussing like that!

Looking it up, the attendance was only 16,000 - maybe the family stand at the time was just busier than usual!

I look at Oakwell as it is now and think they could have restored some of the character of the old ground by putting seats in the terracing between the new stands like they did at Ayresome Park before it was demolished.

you could see the atmosphere crackling in the air, that many people in standing is scary at times, you score and end up 10 foot away from where you was stood,Walsall away when someone pinched a hamster was unreal atmosphere, remember Bradshaw saying in interview when he joined lots of Walsall players found it actually scary playing us

Great atmosphere and we beat them 2-1 john curtis and Craig hignett scored. Was the season we lost to Ipswich in the play off final.

Another good atmosphere was the 4-1 win against Ipswich just before the FA Cup semi-final in 2008. Despite going 1-0 down, we fought back, then the Ponty all stood up and started singing "Red Army" and it kept going for the whole 2nd half, I'm sure the team picked up the vibe and Brian Howard got 3....

I'd like them to open up the corner between the Ponte and West Stand. I'd sit in there even though it isn't covered up.

Me and my dad used to stand in the corner between West stand and Ponty, if I could, I would sit there like a shot.

Thing that stands out about Walsall is Winnall scoring the second goal. The crowd were still singing his name as he burst through to score again.
