Whilst our record at Loftus Road is poor, we have a 100% win record at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium. That's the record I'm focusing on Our win there last season ended an 11 game losing streak away to QPR. QPR have won their last 3 home league games (by 1 goals), prior to that, they'd failed to win in their previous 6 home games. After a run of 6 wins in 7 games, QPR come into this game on the back of a goalless draw with Preston, and a defeat to Birmingham. Their upturn in form coincided with the signings of Charlie Austin and Stefan Johansen, however they do appear to be levelling out again. Whilst it's a place we often struggle, our record in London has improved dramatically over the last 12 months or so, and in our current form, I feel we can beat anyone. With that in mind, I'm going for 1-2 with Morris and Woodrow on the scoresheet.
I'm enjoying these scrappy goals at the minute. At the start of the season, we only seemed to score from a penalty, or a screamer. I did fear that when both of these began go dry out, we'd struggle for goals. And we did for a while. We're still not as clinical in front of goal as I'd like, but taking those scrappy chances is certainly helping us.
Difficult one to call. Cardiff's hammering of Derby last night was a massive statement of intent. We could easily go out and do the same, or we could just as easily have a wobble. Realistically, we're unlikely to go through the rest of the season unbeaten, but this is the stage of the season that really sorts out the wheat from the chaff, when the stronger teams just seem to keep winning. Could that be us?
