He scares me at times, but I thought he played the sweeper keeper role to perfection last night.

I also think he looks a bit simple at times on camera, but hey, who am I to judge. :)

Plenty on the old Facebook don’t rate Collins at all & want Walton back in goal

Tykes Talk? Some of the posters on there are an embarrassment to the club. Just constant abuse. There was someone last night going after Sibbick at half time last night saying to get him off as he’s **** & I can’t even think what he’d done wrong

They were the 2 that stood out for me too. Honourable mentions for Chaplin and Woodrow while they were on and Morris for how he took his goal.

Collins has always looked like the better keeper to me simply because he has less mistakes in him. Walton and Collins both have flaws and both can improve but as I say....
Some people will view things the other way round no doubt.

One poster on here. Has it in for Walton. So way off the mark. He got even more critical the more he was questioned. To the degree. Walton was gash. In his view.
So we do have some on here. That Go way beyond reasoned debate.

Jack Walton is in my view a better goalkeeper - just.

Michael Sollbauer is definitely a better defender than Sibbick.

I wouldn’t play either of them currently though, as Collins has developed into a fast moving and thinking sweeper keeper; Walton possibly being a marginally better shot stopper wouldn’t help if we were conceding at least a couple of one on one chances every game and always chasing back, the back three perhaps having to play deeper.

Sollbauer might be a better defender and would get in a lot of championship teams comfortably, but playing as ridiculously high as we do, Sibbick’s pace has proven a real benefit and he’s been playing very well.

There’s no individuals carried in the team, it’s who is best for us for the system

I questioned both changes to the team when they happened - I was wrong. In VI we trust.

Collins does play the Sweeper Keeper role well.
He has a mistake in him though and thought he was lucky a couple of times last night.
Love his time wasting ability (but also hate it).
Thought last night hearing the QPR bench get frustrated was great.

I really like and rate Collins. I really like and rate Walton. It baffles me why that should be an issue with some. As for others who rate one and then deride the abilities of the other, they are even more bizarre, in my opinion. It's quite some time since we've had two excellent young 'keepers at the club, if ever.

Agree with everything you have said there @JLWBigLil, it makes a refreshing change to have quality in depth all over the park. If VI goes with player A over player B for a game then there is a valid reason for that decision.

I'm more worried about some less than honest striker arriving at the ball about the same time as Collins and simulating, so we end up down to 10 men. Not happened yet but it is a risk.

Fair play to him, been excellent so far.

He does however even annoy me sometimes with the time he takes cos I hate to see it generally in the game. How he hasn't had more bookings is a mystery sometimes. Proper got to the QPR bench though so I forgive him haha.

Mowatt MOTM by a country mile surely!

I don't see a lot between Walton and Collins though I can see Collins' 'style' suits our play.

I'll lay any amount of money that there's a few 'accidents' before the end of the season though. I'll hazard a guess on first half v Derby.

Agreed mate, we've got two great young keepers. We've got cover all over the park as well, strength in depth. Who'd have said that 3 months ago, huh?

Agree with this, what should happen with the right man management is they push each other to be better players as they compete daily.
Can only be a good thing

Fair play & point well made. I couldn't argue with your logic. I just wonder if we would have won, had Collins not cleared up everything that went over our high back line. If @Red Rain stops posting Minority Report, maybe I should take over?
