    this is the exact attitude that influenced me to post in the first place. Caring more about Wednesday losing instead of wanting a result that could have helped us. Oh it's OK as we didn't lose ground on Reading. But had Wednesday turned up we could have gained a few places/points. F*ck me.

    The point is we don't need to rely on them to do us a favour, it's in our own hands.

    OK, lets cheer on Reading then. Or any one else who plays Wednesday. They still have to play Watford and Cardiff. Lets hope they get spanked by them too, as it's in our hands. For sure we will win every game here on out.

    rather than Wednesday win them? my head hurts. You admit you would rather a result that sends Wednesday down than help us. I would happily see Wednesday smash Cardiff 5-0 if it helped us get into the playoffs. Wouldn't even be a question.

    Would I take a Wednesday win if it helped us, of course I would. But that's not the position right now so I can be happy that they've lost and we've won!

    guess we'll have to disagree then. I was annoyed they rolled over so tamely. Was not happy at all. a draw or Wednesday win would have been beneficial for us immensely.

    I think you’re right that your distance may be the issue... although you have just started a new Wednesday thread....

    I have had Wednesday supporting friends and colleagues giving me crap for 20 years +. Most of that time, they’ve overspent and got away with it. They laughed and laughed when they paid more than they could afford to buy Sam Winnall and sit him on a bench... Just so that we wouldn’t make the playoffs... so I can fully understand why you don’t understand why the majority of Barnsley fans would like to see Wednesday playing in league 1 for the rest of their days...

    For someone who couldn't care less about Wednesday why are you so annoyed they rolled over? If you expect them to win games against top half opposition you will be sorely disappointed.

    I’ve seen the one thread that is ‘Why are Barnsley so much better than us?’.

    We have about 5 threads a day saying ‘Seen this on Owlstalk’. I get it, it’s nice to see such a deluded set of fans on the downward spiral, but it looks like some posters spend more time on there than they do on here.

    Too right. I think we should stop this sort of thing in boozers in tarn after a match as well.

    If you’re with your mates talking about the game you should be able to report anyone you overhear talking about Wednesday, Covid, politics, or owt else you don’t approve of and have them chucked out. Serve ‘em right an all. It’s a Barnsley pub, for Barnsley people, talking abart Barnsley.

    I can fully see why people are mentioning Wednesday on here. For years many of their fans have lorded it over clubs like Barnsley Rotherham and Donny and when they had the 'good' times they ridiculed smaller clubs inability to spend and compete. Some of their fans (some) gloated.
    I posted a thread myself the other day. I meant no real malice. I dont 'hate' people from S6, I dont want SW to go bust (as Ive stated on a separate post) and I'm sure many Wednesday fans are good working class folks like me. However, I was taking the piss out of them because of that football rival history I've just mentioned. If Barnsley were in trouble and Wednesday were pushing for play offs the Wednesday superiority brigade would be out extracting the Michael as before.
    So, I say its ok for our fans to gloat a bit if they want to. They're letting off a bit of pent up steam. One day the roles will be reversed again and Wednesday will be higher up the pecking order than Barnsley once more. Then we will have the piss taken out of us as usual and the cycle will continue all over again.
