The lad did look a bit dazed after the incident and probably should have gone off for assessment by the medics. However, he wouldn't under any circumstances have been involved in the play from the incident to the ball hitting the back of the net so would have made no difference. Maybe the ref should have stopped the game but I would have thought he was watching the play and not a player on the ground. Unlucky for them maybe but I don't think it was that significant to be honest, we've all seen players hit the ground and play continue. C'est la vie.
The ball hit him clean on the jaw, the left-hand side of his face. He (Valery) did press after the game. He was stunned but wasn't knocked out. They would have subbed him off if he'd been unconscious, and he certainly wouldn't have been wheeled out for press. But yes, in my opinion, play should have been halted, it was a head injury. And I imagine getting hit clean on the jaw by an Harlee Dean clearance must have been pretty painful/dangerous. No idea why it wasn't stopped.
how come he was holding right side of his face when being treated and he had turned his head, the plot thickens
I thought you said it didn't hit him in the head. That video shows him clearly getting a whack in the face and falling to the floor like Cauley Woodrow every time a defender comes withing 5 foot of him
If you get hit in the jaw it could hurt either side. I'm only telling you what was said post-match. It struck him in the jaw, he was stunned but alright within a minute or two.
Yes it was fortunate for us that the ref played on. I'm not sure I wouldn't be very happy if it had happened to us. Let alone the players health he should have really stopped play to check if the player was okay. I'm not complaining though on this occasion.
end of day it a goal and know you tell it straight, but play that clip of supertyke on quarter speed and the ball goes nowhere near his face for me, if player said it did then ref should have stopped play for head injury if we playing fair
That's just the poor frame rate of my screen recording. I've isolated the closest frame to it showing the ball just on its way back from his face, the top one is the actual frame no editing, the bottom shows roughly the ball, you can see that because of the speed of the ball and the frame rate the ball appears stretched with a 'ghost' trail behind it. You can see from the trail that it goes straight to his chin
if your still about whitey hope Dike not had to delete hid tik tok account after Radio Sheffield outed him for having one, he had some funny tik toks on there, I hate Radio Sheffield they ask the most inane questions
he must have England's hardest chin then he turned his head its hit him on chin and rebounded 4 foot to Morris, either that or a chin like Bruce Forsyth (RIP brucey)
I think the ball must have hit him either in the face or very very close because the frame before he's looking towards the ball and as it rebounds in the next frame, his head's whipped round to his right. Whether it was the impact that caused his head to whip round or a natural involuntary reaction, it's impossible to say from the video. Only he can know. Hope the lad's ok.
ok he was slagging us off afterwards saying we was rubbish , he should take the defeat on the chin, sorry I mean arm/chest
