I know what you’re doing today. The same as you did yesterday and the same as you’ll be doing tomorrow, the day after and the day after that. Staring at a bit of glass. Because that’s what life has come to. Work, social media, takeaways, shopping, banking, box sets the lot. It’s just staring at a bit of glass. Nowt to do with the lockdown in fact it’s only going to get worse. If you want a picture of the future imagine a human face glued to a bit of glass – forever. I’m in a reight good mood this morning.
Currently switching my attention between 4 bits of glass. 2 work screens, my own computer and my phone. But yesterday it was 2 at a time, weekends are great aren’t they.
You're right though. Me and Laura had this conversation the other day. There isn't a right lot of material things to look forward to. Just be thankful you have each other and make the most of it.
I sometime wonder what this era will be known as in a thousand years time. We've already had stone age, iron age, bronze age.. Will we be oil age, plastic age, or what? Maybe screen age will be the definition?
In other news Barnsley won 7 straight league games in the 2nd Tier, for the first time ever. Soon, we're gonna be able to see them play live
Probably the best Blur album, but they were never my favourite band. Scary to think its approaching 30 years old now though...
Glad I'm still here - found out my cousin passed away this morning with a massive heart attack - only 50. Always some worse off - this whole situation will pass soon and we can hopefully get back to some form of normality
I am digging a hole against the sun. It's what they pay me to do and it’s kids I feel sorry for. Just been doing some work, staring at a bit of glass. I’ve put together an ad of a kid staring at a bit of glass. This will be sent to other kids staring at a piece of glass in the hope that they will buy something that will make them stare at a bit of glass for even longer. Remember when we were free-range little humans, off down the woods all day? Now kids are being battery farmed for profit. Keep staring at the glass….
Information age I expect. The first time in human history where such a wealth of information is available to so many people so readily.
Barnsley town centre yesterday was heaving. Marks was 80 deep in the queue. Greggs, Costa and especially the Old George were doing a roaring trade. Benches full of people supping coffees and nibbling cake. Social bubbles had been ****** off. Quite a few where several generations. Saturday was even busier by all accounts. I think if and when we are allowed out, people will be out and about a lot more often to get away from screen time and household isolation. Be more face to face rather than Device to device.
