Yes, it was. Kindon was their top scorer, followed by Brian Stanton & Ian Robins. I've just remembered it was Dave Cowling who scored against us.
I thought I had a good memory for Reds minutiae but you're on a different level. I'm going to describe it, for my own peace of mind as.....weird.
A lot played on Friday 30th January n’all. And we think they’ve come thick and fast this season. Not even sure this lot could manage that.
Think I went to all of them. Some cracking memories amongst that lot not least a no quarter given toe to toe win at Turf Moor.
I know what you are saying but suddenly fans expectation levels have changed, I just hope that if we do stutter & fail fans do not turn on them , what ever happens they have been fantastic & deserve full support throughout .
Not wishing to seem the "smart arse" but Watcher of the Skies schedule is definitely wrong. We played Scunthorpe in the 1st round of the league Cup over two legs on 8th and 12th August 1980. We were knocked out of the League Cup in the 4th round by West Ham on October 28 1980. Darton Pete is correct. We went to Leeds Road needing to avoid defeat to equal our best ever league run of 21 games without defeat. Unfortunately we lost 1-0. There were loads of Reds fans there cooped up on the uncovered away end. West Yorkshire police were also putting it about. While queuing at the turnstiles to get in, I saw some lads, who were already in, shinned up the wall and were chatting to their mates still outside. I saw at least two mounted police go to them and beat them with their truncheons to force them down. Not a pretty sight.....
It was 20 league games unbeaten in the 80/81 season under Hunter, losing at Huddersfield on 7th Feb 1981. Middlesboro then knocked us out of the Cup the following week
Yeah we need to be more like our head coach and CEO who are both taking it one game at a time and don't want to mention any P word.... https://www.thesportsman.com/featur...-s-golden-touch-as-reds-close-in-on-play-offs
It was from Socceerbase, usually reliable, but yes, it's very wrong. Try this one instead: https://www.enfa.co.uk/
