it's a minor point in a game where I'm really pleased we came away with a point.

But the substitutions on 57 mins where Victor replaced either Chaplin or Woodrow, really weakened our front 3. He just didn't get involved in the game at all. I totally get the point of changing the front players to provide more energy to the press, but tonight it came at a significant cost to the quality of player doing the pressing.

Now Victor has proven many of us wrong in the past and I hope he does it again in the future, but I wonder if in future we might try some alternative ways to make that 55-60 mins change? Perhaps Odour could play as a wide player in the front 3? Maybe Williams could replace one of the front 3 and allow Styles to push up into it, instead of replacing him directly?

We've got used to certain patterns of changes from VI up to now, but he's also shown a willingness to try new things e.g. Halme for Palmer.

    Just things I'd consider.

Good grief, no thanks! Once was more than enough. If you disagree fair enough, I thought he was way off the standard required tonight.

He got involved and put himself about, but the quality wasn’t there. Which can be said for quite a few sadly.

Don't mind a late cameo by Victor, creates problems with physicality and i think offers more than chaplin in some situations. Kane is the one I don't get atm. Not wanting to knock any players and believe he will come good. Suspect a loan to oxford next season then it's up to him but he's probably not quite ready. .

One of my favourite players. Didn't work for him tonight. Just one of those things I reckon.

Not his most effective game that's for sure but I wouldn't criticize him too much about a 30 minute performance on a generally scrappy night for both teams. Just a real shame that Chaplin couldn't finish his chance off.

I've got a feeling that he'll come good for us too, just need to be patient with him. I thought he was maybe trying to force things tonight but I suppose that's what you get with a 10 minute cameo.

Just won 7 in a row. Unbeaten in 10. Let's not go around experimenting when we're 6th in the league and doing fantastic. Was just an off day. Perhaps wasn't his best game, but as I say were 10 Unbeaten so why change? If we go on a winless streak fair enough, try change it up. Thought he put himself about, lacking quality however, but same could be said for most of the players. Not to mention poor ref

Although, based on what we have seen from Kane, I'd rather us take Palmer off for williams, and swap positions with Styles. Saying that, I'd doubt he would have got on pitch had Halme been on bench mate. Definitely think Kane needs a loan, a proper run of games. Worked wonders for Mowatt!

Woodrow needed to come off he was terrible from the word go, awful 1st touch, miles behind the game and intent on getting himself sent off. And chaplin wasn't great either lucky the flag went up for offside when he was one on one because I don't know where he was off with the ball.

I wasn't really intending to criticise, just suggesting some alternative changes to mix it up a bit.

The part of the post you quoted was a reference to someone suggesting I watch the match back, certainly not a dig at Victor.

Yeah he didn't look at the races when he came on. I thought as a team though we looked a yard off the pace. Even Morris struggled to have much of an impact, barring the odd jinking run. Styles had a quiet night too, and Palmer was wasteful in possession. I'm hoping it was just an off game for us. Thankfully the back 3 were fairly resolute, which means we'll continue to pick up points, even if we're having an off day in an attacking sense.

Just a bad night at the office last night, Sibbick had his worst game since coming back i thought, but swirling conditions certainly didn,t help, on to saturday, a point would be great...

Chaplin’s missed chance proved to me why he must be transfer listed in the summer

Big Val has tried most combinations already I suppose it just boils down to who takes their opportunity on the day. Having options is a nice problem to have though.

    Poor game......horrendous conditions.
Our impact subs failed to make any impact but i was pleased with a point.
Yet another compliment from star studded (highly paid staff and players) who altered their entire formation and style to play against us.
