It became legal again to sit on a bench with a friend or family member and enjoy a beverage from a number of takeaways. Or you can drive to Woolley Edge services and sit at a table. Inside. In the warm. With loads of other people.
Have we been in a lockdown? Apart from the pubs and shops shut I've seen nowt different to when we weren't apparently in one.
No pubs, restaurants, hotels, cinemas, theatres, no outdoor sports......it's certainly felt like a lockdown to me!
Are the inside tables actually open? the services I called at last week they were taped off and you had to go sit in your car
Just going on what l see on a daily basis, kids out with their mates, folk on the street going to work when they can work from home including myself, Locke Park - groups talking to each other, kids play areas busy, not much social distancing. Traffic on my commute to Leeds back at pre-pandemic levels. Apart from the footy and the non essential places not being open it looks a stark contrast to the 1st lockdown. Not many folk have stuck to the rules like the first lockdown.
With restaurants and pubs shut, service stations are doing a roaring trade with groups of families and friends eating surrounded by others doing the same.
Really, Well I know where I live, close to the Stairfoot roundabout, there’s been a marked increase in Traffic this week. The last few weeks have seen little traffic compared to ‘ normal’ times. I work in Tarn and again traffic has been very minimal compared to usual times.
Agreed, yesterday in Leeds I was stuck in endless traffic jams. I'm also now queuing again all the way up Dodworth rd to the M1 now the schools are back - parents have thought now they're back l may as well.
Madness. However this rule is only meant for long distance lorry drivers not families or groups taking the pi55. Clearly not being well policed.
Standard lockdown thread comprising of people out and about complaining that there are folk out and about.
Yes we have, I came very close to losing my job when half our business was forced to close and the other half saw drastically reduced footfall. ihaven't been able to see my family or friends, haven't been able to go shopping and buy clothes, haven't been able to do anything except work eat and sleep for fcu.king months. It may not feel like lockdown to some people who are out and seeing others out but for the vast majority of us it's been horrendous
Frankly I think it's a stupid rule in the first place. A lorries cab is designed to be comfortable and spacious, absolutely no reason they can't eat in their cab.
I wasn't speaking economically, just being out and about. In my job I'm fully aware of the effects its had on jobs and life.
I don't really go out and about because by law I'm not allowed to be. Obviously you live town centre so you see more but from what I see everything is so much quieter than normal
