Your assuming the ground share possibility is true? You do understand if its gone to Court they can't discuss a lot of whats going on?
Didn't supporters trust members confirm ground share discussions had take place? It seems proceedings were only filed or commenced in August last year and no case has been heard. ConLee acquired their holding in December 2017. At any time between the 6 month clause lapsing (so around May/June 2018) to August 2020.... did ConLee outline why they had failed to take up the opportunity to buy the ground?
Ha! I see Dane as Dick Winters in the Last Patrol in the Band of Brothers. Rather than sending men out again on a pointless suicide mission he lies to his superiors that the job was done. I’m pleased I didn’t get a phone call more to avoid the embarrassment for the playing staff. Conway sounds more like Trump every time I hear him.
Not that it bothers me but I dont know anyone that did. I know about 10 ST holders personally who didn't get a call. Maybe they only phoned a certain age group. We're all old Codgers who wouldn't appreciate a phone call from a young whippersnapper anyway.
A glance at my birth certificate tells me I'm an old codger and I didn't get a call either so you can now make it 11!
Sure there were people on here saying they received calls at time. Sounds to me he’s being artistic with the truth by saying all ST members.
They definitely called some. I think maybe the younger end? Not that they called my son who would fit into that category. I would imagine that there would be too many to phone them all?
I think you might be jumping to conclusions with not having all the details of the case and the contractual agreements. My understanding is that they have a legitimate grievance. Both sides think they are in the right and it's not as black and white as you suggest.
I've not jumped to any conclusion or think anything is black and white. That is the information in the public domain and ConLee didn't take out the 6 month option in the timescales offered.
Sorry you seemed to be arguing the Conway/Lee are in the wrong with only public domain information to go on and with a little view on the detail. The view from impartial witnesses with a view of this detail is that both sides have got legitimate grievances. Apologies if I got that wrong.
My main issues with the owners are their general lack of clarity, their regular litigious threats to all and sundry and how they over egg their pudding every time they open their traps (Conways interview for his latest new club being another prime example of either saying something that wasn't true, either wholly or in part, the latest case of verisimilitude). It's better when they remain quiet and let James, Dane and the coach of the day just get on with it. The court case will work itself out however it works itself out. But whats undoubtedly true is that ConLee haven't taken up the 6 months option of the Cryne stake in the ground, and haven't paid the full amount for the club.
I knew I had become an old codger when queuing to get into a gig at the Cockpit in Leeds , they were asking everyone for ID , I got to the doors and went for my wallet , the security guy put his hand up and said ‘ It’s ok your face is your ID’ .... bar steward ....I
From todays chron: Murphy told the Chronicle last month that the club and the council were in negotiations. The Reds’ owners have stated they eventually want to own the stadium, which is part-owned by the council and the minority club owners the Cryne family. Murphy told the Chronicle: “It is continuing to move forward. Has there been a large progression? Not yet but it is extremely positive. We have a few more hurdles to jump over but the hope is we can agree a new deal by next season. “It’s a bit more robust than just agreeing a new rental agreement, there are a few things that need to take place. But all talks have been very positive.”
Was there comment that the legal case/s is/are still going ahead? I wonder if we'll ever find out why ConLee let the 6 month option to buy the Cryne share of the ground lapse back in 2018?
