Of course that could be the case. For me no, it wasn't. I have many streaming services and had the same problem on different devices and different networks. Amazon Prime also was problematic at the outset of their streaming - known issues their end. I think they fixed most of it now. Also i think iFollow has improved too but seems a disproportionate amount of fans had problems early doors. Maybe some have stuck to the alternate solutions they have found.
I'm in the 5% then. I usually do a half of each commentary. It shouldn't just be up to the fans to cough up though.
To be fair, I have also seen comments (elsewhere) by people who did pay for iFollow and just didn't realise you could switch commentary. I suspect most are via illegal streams though.
Because you/they have made a conscious decision to pirate content produced/distributed by the club and directly take money away from them. Just in the same way that I'd say that people who pirate a movie have no right to complain about the quality of it.
Okey doke. I've had a season ticket for over 25 years. I've had three season tickets for the last 6 years, including renewals for two seasons without seeing a ball kicked. I've also just renewed three Reserved+ season tickets for next season. And because I don't buy a stream, for an away game which I would never have gone to, I'm 'taking money away from the Club', and have no right to ever question anything that the Club spend my season ticket money on? Reyto.
Well obviously I’m not referring to you am I? I’m referring to the people that have pirated every game this season, home or away and haven’t bought a season ticket.
I watched a dodgy stream with ‘Willo’ on it. My justification being that I had £3.42 in my bank account, and mathematically that can’t quite stretch to £10, so it was stream or be locked out of following my club
I get where you’re coming from loko. But I know of families of 3 and 4 who have purchased season tickets. Do you have any sympathy for them.
If you think back to my comments around the club ensuring they did something with season ticket renewals for those households who backed us with multiple tickets, then you’ll know I do have sympathy. I still think illegally streaming our games and then complaining about the ‘away’ commentary or anything involving pricing/transfers is still hypocritical, but as with all things there’s levels to that. I think anyone even slightly switched on knows that this refers to those who don’t buy season tickets, don’t buy iFollow, and shout from the rafters about how the club is always doing wrong. As daft as it might sound, if we lose out on £3/£4k of iFollow money to illegal streams that could be the difference between some people at the club getting a pay rise, or season tickets being £305 rather than £295. It all contributes. Screw Sky. But not your own club (if your circumstances allow).
I get that loko. But the club haven’t. Done anything to my knowledge. To reward those from the same households. So to say 3/4K makes a difference to a multi million pound industry. Is more critical than someone who’s spent £1k and above and not seen a ball kicked in anger for 12months. Is not a reason to criticise. I don’t want any recompense and neither does any of my family and friends. And admirably most on here have said the same. But in 5 households ( 3 families) 11 season ticket holders. I neither condemn or praise any that use illegal streaming. But I can understand their reasoning. Not aiming at you mate. It’s just how I perceive it and wanted to comment. On my opinion in general.
I don’t really know what else I can say mate? Agree with you. I think how reasonable season ticket pricing is for next season goes a long way to making up for a season without football, but yeah maybe more could be done for those households we’re mentioning. I think you’re narrowing in on a minority and we’re discussing a majority.
Thanks for the synopsys mate. It saves me trawling through the replay. All the funnies condensed into two posts.
I'm fine with iFollow, and I'm 5,500 miles away. I have had issues with freezing, but rarely and nothing but a little irritating. Apart from a few YouTube videos, I don't stream anything else, so I never know if these issues are with iFollow, or my equipment / setup.
