Being walking mi nuts off this week but I have strained or pulled my calf, anyone know what's the best treatment? I don't want to stop walking if possible but it is really suwer, any suggestions please. TIA
Ask your missus for a lend of her Hitachi. If she turns red have a rummage in the bedside drawers and apply to the affected area. Probably give it a wipe first.
Rest and small, gentle stretches of the calf muscle. Stand with front of your foot on the edge of a step and lower your heel over the edge. Small movements, 10 reps and rest. No expert , but always works for me.
Rest is probably the wisest option but if you're insisting on continuing walking then I think some knee high compression socks or calf compression support could do the job. Failing that a couple of Ibuprofen might dull the pain as a short term solution. Good luck.
I’m wrong side of 50 but still run a lot. Not very scientific but I do find I can run most niggles, aches and pains off. Good walking/running shoes essential.
It’s funny that, I’ve been suffering with calf injury since mid-Jan after I did 50kms of running in December for charity, I just stopped running for a month then did a run last Monday and it started hurting again. I can do a mean downward dog - get my heels on the floor- and I don’t feel any discomfort doing that. So not sure what it is.
Is it low calf? Achilles area? Sounds like a overuse tendon issue with the limited info. It's a common injury that I see a lot as a physio.
As a matter of interest. What is your remedy for wanking. Given the injuries it causes. Including going blind. Less often is not really an option for some. Asking for a friend. Apologies in advance. If you were thinking of something completely different. But any advice would be welcome. My friend is already developing a type of cataract. And he’s only 16 (I think)
