I think I want Swansea to finish second and go up automatically. I feel like we're least likely to beat them over two legs than the other teams we might encounter in the playoffs.
With a game in hand. So they’ll have to drop 11 points for us to even have a chance of getting level with them. Then we’ll drop points in our last 10 games on top of that.
It’s eight points tbf and yes I can see them dropping those but more importantly we’ll keep winning . A draw would be ideal but I wouldn’t balk at all for a muff win . I can see Swansea go on a downward spiral if things start to go wrong and they have a tough run in although tbf in Championship they’re all tough run ins . Hope Rotherham come bouncing back tonight after a good rest . But most of all a good win for us then “I’ll go where the music takes me.”
They're 8 points ahead, so we have to catch up those points, but also hope they lose their game in hand, which takes it to 11 points that they'd have to drop. We'll of course drop points as well, which means we'd need Swansea to drop even more points if we were to catch them. They might have a tough run in, but to expect them to drop points in 6 or 7 games out of 11 is fanciful.
Its not fanciful at all imo we’ve just taken 28 out of 30 and a game in hand doesn’t automatically mean three points . They’ve had a good run Swansea and there’s nothing in the rules that says they can’t have a bad run especially given they’re remaining fixtures . I’m not giving up on second place just yet so a draw imo is fine a muff win not too bad .
It doesn't automatically mean three points. But my point was, we need them to drop 8 points, plus 3 points in their game in hand to have a chance of catching them. That's why I said 11 points. Say, we replicate the last 10 games in the next 10, that would have us finish on 89 points. To keep Swansea at 89 points or less, they'd need to drop 13 points, in 11 games. It's not a combination of results that I'd be willing to put any money on. Especially given, they've had a bad run, but still won the games thanks to some dodgy refereeing. That's why I'd prefer Bournemouth to drop points than Swansea tonight.
WhIch positions play in semis.? As long as we don’t have to play Barnsley, I’m not bothered who we get..
Some reight overthinking going on. Not counting goal difference, there’s about quarter million permutations, how the top 6 could finish. Quite a basic algorithm..
Bournemoth to lose, we beat Wycombe, we are then 8 points above Bournemouth, hopefully Cardiff lose against Stoke too. Then a win on Saturday will really cement our playoff credentials
Definitely a Swansea win please. We've got a tough game tomorrow and I don't want that gap to 7th cut to two points.
