hardly val's MO... but I see your point, why change something that is good to fix something else? decision to pore over..
I suppose Halme is also an option, but i I'm no good at building anyway. I can wire it for you though.
Sibbick is also an option, he played a fair few games in CM when Daniel was manager. I think he is more mobile than Halme. But it really has to be Kane.
Was always gonna happen. Styles in the middle & Williams at wing back is an option. There are a few. VI is our leader.
We will appeal it. There is no law about two footed tackles - and that wasn’t really one anyway even if there was. The serious foul play rule talks about endangering an opponent or excessive force - that had neither. They might protect the ref by not overturning it, but that wasn’t a red card for me. One of his feet never went the other side of the ball and nowhere near the man, and the other didn’t touch or barely touched him while getting the ball. He was just too weak to not give them a big decision after Ainsworth whinged about the penalty, the histrionics of the lad rolling around and their lot surrounding him didn’t help.
will not need a replacement will win appeal,he never touched player, dirty cheat rolling about for nothing
This is an interesting one this if we think a bit long term. There is a good possibility Mowatt won't sign a new contract. So do we use this time to see if his replacement is in the squad already or do we concentrate on winning matches. I'd always thought that Styles would be able to replace Alex at centre mid. Then again, maybe the club think Kane is the natural successor? Either way the next few matches will answer the question for one of them & the club.
In some ways Palmer is the closet to Mowatt in terms of foot skills and tackling. Styles and Kane closer in terms of shooting. Against Wednesday, from memory the secret to keeping them quiet is stopping Banananan. Would that be Palmer's job then have Kane more of a free roamer? Or is consideration of the other team not in Val's philosophy? Set up to press and attack and let the opposition worry about dealing with it.
It’s got to be Kane. Excellent against Bournemouth & hopefully ready to take his chance. I don’t want to see us move Styles away from where he’s been playing so well on top of losing Mowatt. That’s too much disruption in my opinion
