No problems with Gareth Ainsworth, he's doing a brilliant job there on a very limited budget. Wycombe are never going to play an open expansive game. He's always been complementary towards.
I don't have a problem with him, he's done a great job getting Wycombe into the Championship and they've had some awful refereeing to contend with. I didn't see anything wrong at halftime, he kept his social distance and quite calmly talked to the officials as they went off. I can think of a few managers who would have been far worse.
His team are awful to watch, they cheat & play act but I don’t blame them one bit. They just don’t have the resources to compete. If they try to play football they probably don’t get 10 points this season. They’ve already got more points on the board than I expected them to finish the season with. He’s done a brilliant job.
Let’s be honest they probably shouldn’t have got in the playoffs last season, it was a bit of a farce - but they did, and went and won them. To compete this year they’re doing whatever they can. Some of that is bordering on bare arsed cheating in my eyes, but I don’t really blame them. Good luck to them. When they turn around and say we are a physical team though, and that OUR bench shouted for every decision, I think that’s a bit rich. I honestly hope they win every game for the rest of the season and stay up though - not that they will sadly.
He's exceeded all expectations at Wycombe but that's in part because expectations are so low. I'm not convinced he could replicate it at a higher level with more resources and more pressure.
Saw him have a quick word with Dike at full time and gave him the thumbs up. I have no problem with him or his team, trying all sorts to overcome this seasons uphill struggle. Thought they weren`t haif bad first haif but as usual we come out and play better second haif and the class told. Great ball in for the 3rd from Brittain his crossing seems to be improving recently after dipping at one point.
I thought Wycombe ended our best spell of the game with those two imaginary injuries in the first half. Had there not been such a lenghty break in play we'd have score sooner and the flood gates would have opened. I thought we tried to play football. It was just too frenetic (great word) at times.
No problem with Wycombe or Gareth Ainsworth. They’re fighting for their lives, and once they cross the white line they’re going to war for 90 minutes. I respect that. As for $hithousery and being ugly…many teams will use those exact words to describe us.
I agree. Other Reds teams may have come unstuck last night, but considering the age of our lads they really do have an appetite for the fight. Not just lads good at the ‘dark arts’ but one or two that are physically dominant like Dike and Helik.
In fairness if you look at Wycombe when he took over and what he achieved almost instantly and since he has done well.
He’s a bit of a see you next Tuesday, but I doubt he cares given his antics. Not sure why anyone would wish them well, they were sht houses in league one and they’re still the same now. I have no soft spot for twtish behaviour
