Good luck and congratulations to him but I genuinely think he'd be in with a shout of an England cap if he was in the Premier League Mad to think we might get up there before he does!
Good move for him. Jamaica are trying to get a number of players to switch nationalities, should have a decent chance of qualifying for the World Cup. He’s 28 in a couple of months. He’s never getting near the England squad, as good as I think he is.
He's one of 10 players Jamaica have been chasing and apparently persuaded to represent them. Mason Holgate is another, but not sure if he's accepted their offer or not... edit: Another former Reds connection too, Kasey Palmer...
I don't know why, but I thought we'd had him on loan for a bit. Wiki says I'm wrong though. No idea where I'd got that from!!!
https://www.sportbible.com/football...l-starting-xi-for-the-2022-world-cup-20210304 They could have a pretty good team if they can persuade enough players to play for them.
I never realised he's that old, he mustn't have been as young as I'd thought when we signed him! When you look at some of the players who England have capped recently (Mings, Tarkowski etc) I think he's every bit as good as them.
I suppose if you look at who else is in the running for a right back spot, you have Alexander Arnold, Wan-Bissaka, Reece James, Trippier, Brighton's Tariq Lamptey, Kyle Walker is still there or thereabouts. Then there is young Max Aaron at Norwich who looks a serious prospect(who Jamaica are also courting!). That's an awful lot of talent to have to outplay. He could be plodding along for another 10 years and only play a handful of friendlies, or take a punt and play for Jamaica at World Cups and Gold Cups(and have a real chance of winning the latter). Whatever the decision, it's a tough choice for him...
