Anyone else like to read opposition forums ignoring the usernames of the posters and then try and put an appropriate BBS member next to the comments based on their style and content?

Maybe I should get on with some work today.

It’s just like reading this forum when we were in a similar position to them. The opposition were always better than us at shithousery, better at influencing the ref, better divers, better cheats. I think it must go with the territory. I must admit, although I’ve never condoned this type of behaviour, when we’re accused of it, and bearing the past in mind, it doesn’t half bring a wry smile to my face.

What was Cauley’s goal celebration about?
    Pretty dodgy/ cringeworthy.

I'm not sure they can have much cause for complaint about trying to influence the ref. If Bond was to test positive for Covid, half their team would have to self isolate.

Did they ever find that sniper in the stands who got Scott Kashket, and most of the rest of the Wycombe team?

Funny there was no mention of the intimidation aimed at Woodrow while placing the ball or as he was about to run up to take the penalty or indeed any mention of the two fouls late on in the game, one of which should have resulted in a Wycombe player being sent off.

Some interesting views on how referees are treated by players and managers and on the whole I agree. I think the problem is that we have hugely overpaid young lads who feel empowered to do or say whatever they like and relatively poorly paid officials who the players look down on. I think an approach like in rugby union has to be adopted and bred into the players at a young age. This should be followed up by serious and meaningful sanctions when they transgress in the professional game.

I remember when my 2 lads played at the under 10 level 20 years ago when young 16 year olds refereeing the games received shocking abuse from some of the parents. The example set in the minds of those 10 year olds probably still colours their attitude to any sort of authority figure. After almost every game I took the time to impress on my boys what is acceptable and what's not, I can't imagine the guilty parents doing the same.
