Am I the only one who kind of recognises that the style of football is ugly as sin but that actually makes me enjoy us winning that way even more? There's no way I'd enjoy it more than this even if we played like 1970s Netherlands.
Another stat from this season - It's the lowest average attendance in our history.. It's a shame we're breaking all these records with nobody there. Another sad stat - we more than likely will never get to see Ismael or Dyke.
We will if we're promoted. If we don't go up we'll have to recruit a new Head Coach and ball playing midfielder most likely.
Agreed but the game moves on & to be honest Wilsons second spell was about as bad as I have watched in my 60 years of attending, it was as turgid & boring beyond belief , give me what I am watching now any day
I thought there was a mixture last night, and to be fair to Wycombe they gave us very little space and of course it was a stop start game because of the niggly challenges from both sides. Last night was as I expected. Hard fought win against a team light on quality. It was never going to be a classic, although I quite enjoyed it apart from Mowatt being sent off.
i saw the home game so I knew it could be tough and a battle at the best of times. To be honest I was really worried about last night so was delighted with the three points.
He might not have seen the pass. I think it's easy to forget sometimes how much greater the whole of this team is than the sum of it's parts. How many of our players would've been described as top 6 Championship players, even 6 weeks ago? We look a much better team when we try to create space for somebody in wider areas, or the side edge of the penalty area. But sometimes a player won't see the pass or have the confidence to play it, so in those situations will just play it forward into an area. It seems to be an approach that makes the players more comfortable in what they're doing which makes a big difference. The problems seem to come when the desire to play such high intensity leads to us being frenetic. I think that's what led to the red card last night.
Of course. Ownership is completely irrelevant to the style of football played on the pitch. Stendel was coach under these owners, no? To conflate the two is disappointing, but not unexpected.
i prefer it to the Lee Johnson non football football side with its 98757 passes between centre halves followed by a big boot out of play.
I agree with you to an extent if we were losing playing this brand of football people would be up in arms.
It's conjecture as we won't know unless it happened, but I suspect if fans were in grounds, and we were losing with this style of football, the pitchforks would be out more swiftly than a style we're more accustomed to, especially given our struggling status of the last few years.
It's not irrelevant though is it? They appoint high-press managers, they made this decision. We didn't play like that when Patrick Cryne was the owner
by sheer definition of "If we're losing games" then we'll be up in arms, whatever system, tactics or manager
