End of parachute payments has done for them. But they'll be ok while Gibson is there, sounds like losses will be a lot lower next year, and wage bill is falling.

Precisely, £32m of the loss is removal of parachute payments. The issue this last year has been a lack of market at Championship level to sell on players. Whereas we have benefitted from that, other clubs wanting to reduce wage bulls have been negatively impacted.

Plus they have stuck with the same manager so no pay off needed unlike a few other clubs

It will be a similar problem when our parachute payments from the Prem end in a few years.

Will be interesting to see ours when they're released. Am sure we'll have made a loss, given the curtailment of the season / behind closed doors, but hopefully the wage bill / player sales means it's not too desperate.

Is a wage bull the same as a cash cow? Asking for a friend

Convenient to blame COVID. I suspect it's the end of parachute payments that really screwed them. All clubs have been hit by COVID....

Interestingly, £19m income. Can’t be far off double that of Barnsley I’d have thought.
This seasons accounts will be even more interesting.
