I'm reading the BBC report on our match against Wycombe. The superlatives they're using have gone up several notches now and we are/were quote rampant, exciting and superb unquote. Was it still only this season we were lowly despite not even being in the bottom third

Of all the positive and negative superlatives I've read over the years, I still prefer the one used commonly in the PL season, battling Barnsley. That'll do lads

'teams like Barnsley' of course. Whilst probably not often meant as a compliment, I certainly take it as one.

Battling Barnsley has been our superlative almost our entire history .
It was used during our FAC win in 1912 and in 1910. Probably even before that .

Correct. In a York museum is a fragment of an ancient pottery with a stick drawing of a bloke kicking a bison’s head. Underneath it the inscription “Baterlain Berneslai”
