Some routers have them built in but if they don't then yes you'd need a separate one for each thing as your firestick connects to the router bit the computer.

My knowledge is very limited but basically instead of you connecting directly from your house to the BBS you'd connect from your house to a VPN server somewhere and then to the BBS with that somewhere usually being a different country.

They won't particularly help you evade detection by the police for serious crimes unless you went to a lot of effort to cover your tracks I believe but they will trick a website or streaming service into thinking you're in a different country to allow you access to region specific stuff.

Some browsers have them built in and just need turning on, or you can download them but I've no idea what's best.

There's also a good chance I've got some things wrong with what I said. Like I said I'm no expert

Virtual Private Network. Basically creates a private network connection across a public network. People tend to use them to either connect to corporate networks, e.g. people working from home. Or to mask how they use their home network. That's why IPTV users use them. The theory is that Internet Service Providers (your broadband provider) can't see what you're doing. In summary, VPNs are perfectly legal. How you use them may not be.

As a rule of thumb I would stay away from anyone offering 'free VPN'. Nothing comes for free, so they're probably monetizing your data in some way, which kinda defeats the point.

I've never bothered - but then I'm not interested in streaming foreign Netlfix, tricking airlines into giving me cheaper flights, using dodgy Kodi channels or using public torrent sites.
