Everyone has the right to make their own choices i socially distanced I saw friends and family that if they were to catch it would have little to no affect on them I wasn’t visiting nursing homes visiting great grandparents I was wise in my choices of who I saw and will continue to do so..

The police also have a nasty side when a Tory government is in power I watched it first hand at Orgreaves and was lucky not to be seriously injured.

Don’t you think it would have been nice for me and millions of others to see family and friends?

Guess some people have more respect.

I just want to highlight this and say that I have nothing against you, and that the only reason all of us get so passionate about politics is for the same reason. We all want to do the right thing. All the best to you and yours and up the Reds - I've got far more in common with you than I have any politician, and whoever is making the decisions, I want them to be the right decisions for both of us.

I've just experienced many right-wing injustices, from open racism in the street aimed at my black wife, to being effectively kicked out of my own country for the crime of marrying a 'foreigner' who had no family back home and me wanting her to live with me in the UK with my family, to experiencing the harshness of the Tory welfare state when I lost a job through illness. As anyone will tell you, being poor is also very expensive, which drives people left. Late fees, overdrafts, fines, having to buy small packets because you can't afford to buy in bulk, being forced to use PAYG fuel which comes with a higher tariff, etc etc. These economic inequalities are intrinsically linked with social inequalities. The 'woke' crowd are highlighting this.

Experiences like I've had do radicalise you, but radicalisation isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've learned so much in the last few years, and half of it is stuff I'd never even thought about before.

Class is the ultimate way society is divided, but capitalist systems use race and other social structures to divide and rule, keeping their power and wealth intact.

You’ve chosen not to see them. I was working on a power station with 100s of ppl all interacting and digging in the same accommodation with each other for months on end but yet I couldn’t see my friends or family?? It’s laughable

I was going on the statistics that less than 1% of ppl under 65 without health conditions were absolutely fine

I would nt hold your breath . The 2 party duopoly is designed to not change . The Dems have the White House / senate / house but makes no difference . My favourite policy up to present is they ll be no student debt cancellation but if there is it will be tax free ! It's just the same old nothingness with the big danger being you ll end up with a worse trump the more demoralised people become . Someone who actually gets things done . Some sinister people lurking in the background while the Dems pander to their donors .

Not sure that actually makes sense, but even if you passed Covid onto just one, solitary, apparently healthy person who went on to suffer really badly from it - long Covid or worse - then that's one too many and just underlines your appallingly selfish attitude.

I don’t need to justify my actions to anyone.. like I’ve stated in previous post my daughter’s mental health was suffering right at the beginning of lockdown last year i made the choice there and then that I would make life as normal as possible for her we went abroad we made life as good as it could be for her and I will not apologise her well being is more important to me than your opinion or anyone else’s

I'm really sorry to hear about your daughter's mental health, but it's a little disingenuous of you to pin your attitudes about Covid to that alone.

"I saw friends and family that if they were to catch it would have little to no affect on them"

How do you know that?? Genuinely, how could you know you weren't subjecting them to a potentially fatal virus? Both my sons have epilepsy, my mum has dementia and my 93-yr old dad is struggling to deal with it, but we haven't seen any of them for months, apart from one distanced present drop-off at Christmas. Don't you think I'd like to spend time with my kids and their families?

I'd love to be able assess people's ability to deal with a dose of Covid just by looking at them, but sadly don't possess that particular superpower.

Eh, surely if we’re demonstrating by peaceful protest then we are still not accepting the majority decision?

Ok maybe that line was a little mis thought out.

I saw friends and family that were comfortable with the choices they were making. I wouldn’t have dreamed of seeing ppl that had underlying health conditions.. I haven’t seen my 94 year old grandmother for over 12 months she had angina cancer and constantly has pneumonia after 10 months of not seeing her in her nursing home she hadn’t met my newborn son she caught covid in a nursing home after 10 months we were keeping away to protect her from a virus she eventually caught luckily she’s absolutely fine she survived and is back to her old self but if she had have died and after not seeing her for 12 months I don’t think I could have forgiven myself because what a waste of time keeping away from her was when she caught the thing anyway her last 12 months alone heart breaking..

So you would take to the streets and protest to stop people protesting about legislation that stops protests

This post, good grief. Trump not a nice man, and Obama similarly compared. Then say the outrage against Trump was off- scale?..How can you judge Biden’s term in office when he’s only just got in? Hasn’t he already reversed some of Trump’s policies, Environmental for example? If you feel so strong about it why haven’t you created a thread about it in its own right instead of hiding it away in this thread?
