It could’ve been better worded, but ‘Bill’ is to describe the proposed legislation,

I think too many "protesters" took it far too literally.

And this got likes, Shame on the post and the Likers. I was at Orgreave when skulls got cracked and am disgusted by it.
Ironically, when that 16 year old got whacked in Tarn by the copper in Sheffield Wednesday fixture last season, there was outrage because it was football related. (even though there were allegations of him and his family being known football hooligans and being involved in trouble moments earlier)

I liked it but I was liking the rest of the post and felt really uncomfortable liking it because of that last line but felt that the rest of the post warranted a like.

I'm not sure how a reply to a post about Churchill being a racist turned into criticism of Anthony Joshua, but it's not a good look.

In the current Covid situation if the Police have to risk assess each request to demonstrate on an individual basis to decide it is OK to peacefully demonstrate (according to Court ruling). therefore it is NOT automatically illegal so I do not see what you are saying. So a peaceful protest sanctioned by the Police adhering to the social distancing rules and wearing masks with limited numbers is not illegal although IMO it is irresponsible. Your point is relevant in that if idiots turn a peaceful protest into violent action then it increases the chances that bans even peaceful ones WILL become the norm and then, and only then would it go against the wishes of the people . but that would be down to the behaviour of anarchists (criminals)

In this situation the police stood back allowing the peaceful protest (in spite of suggesting it was not advisable but did not reinforce a ban. It then turned ugly and only then did the police with riot gear move in. (Hence the reason some regular police with minimal protection were injured as they were not riot police). They tried to keep a low profile and as low key as possible.

You appear to be an apologist for violent criminal destructive behaviour in the name of democracy. What civil rights have they taken away.?.. The right to attack people and property?
    How sad!

Exactly that. Hugo Boss have also been transparent and apologised for their past association with the nazis. It was interesting how AJ got singled out too. It made me wonder how many of our squad own Hugo Boss apparel, or products, and does this by association make them condemnable in the same vein? Association is an interesting thing. The same poster seemed to have a soft spot for the Royal Family who of course have direct ties to the nazis themselves. Prince Philip's sisters were both nazis, and both married nazis themselves. Food for thought. There is then the Royal Family's troubling association with paedophiles, Saville, Epstein etc.

As for this new crime bill, people have the right to protest to protect their freedoms in this country, which they apparantly want to take away. I find it odd that some will readily protect the police but crack the skulls of those making a stand for our freedoms. What are we left with? A police state. And we are already halfway there. I don't condone setting alight police vans but I can understand the anger. If not now, when? If this bill passes it will be too late and as a country we will be stripped of another one of our fundamental rights.

As for the abuse suffered by @Gravy Chips's wife, which seems to have been swept under the carpet, absolutely disgusting.

I think what he is saying that disorder has in the past, contributed to govt. action. For example Poll Tax and inner city riots

My son is a police officer in West Yorkshire for more than 20 years. They are in an invidious position by being asked to implement directives without clear guidance from the home office. Stuck in the middle without support from government or support from large sections of the public. People should realise we're one of the few countries whereby we police 'by consent' of the public. We don't want to lose that. I wouldn't blame your daughter for not following this career path. Most people haven't a clue what the ordinary 'bobby' has to put up with.

I agree they are in a bit of a ‘no man’s land’ scenario. I think the vast majority of us are well aware of an understaffed, underfunded police force. Who’s roles are increasingly incorporating stuff that wouldn’t be traditionally seen as a Policing responsibility. Pretty much like a lot of the Public Services to be fair. Teaching is a great example of an ever widening role, that I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole. As we keep seeing This govt just continues to bulldoze through policies that are Ill-thought out and not funded properly. If they’d put the same effort in these as they do making sure they get the desired press and media spin, things might be a little more bearable

Totally agree my Nephew & Godson is in the Armed response unit in London and his Wife is a normal Bobby, the stories they tell that go on daily are awful.
