Iam a Methodist and luckily its not as strict as Catholic's and our Minister is brilliant in the way he does any service. No preaching like the old days, makes it interesting and people can relate to it.

Same as why people marry in a church even though they aren't religious, never read the bible and don't do Sunday Service.

You can get married at the Methodist Church if you've been divorced not sure about any other denominations.

At the Christening for my friends’ kids the vicar actually said to us that he didn’t expect us to be religious and it was fine that we weren’t. He said he knew a lot of people that aren’t these days but who still want to join in the service. I thought it was lovely of him and I guess he prefers that than having people lie in church out of a sense of obligation or embarrassment.
