Completely off topic ... interesting point.. Graffiari is the Italian verb 'To scratch' and the ...err...art... of graffiti originated in Italy.
You can say graffitied though .... e.g. The man came out and found the had been wall graffitied. I believe whilst you are correct that most dictionaries state that graffiti is a noun, I also came across some sources that consider 'graffiti' to be a verb form.. e.g. I will graffiti that wall .
In English for example we have 'To plough' - verb...... It was a 'ploughed field' - Adjective...I bought a plough- Noun. Language evolves over time accotding to usage so I don't think the case for graffiti not bring a verb is black and white :)(sorry could not resist).

There's no point in debating with you. You think what you're doing is right on the pretext that two wrongs make a right and you can therefore break the law and do anything you want. I'm not going to change your mind, so why bother debating anything with you? Doesn't mean i don't think the likes of you are selfish though.

Excellent response, I like a grammatical debate.
You are right that sometimes non verbs have been converted into verbs. One great example ( mostly from the IT world) is access. Grammatically you can grant access or gain access but you shouldn't really be accessing anything.....:):):)

Thank you very much for that piece of abuse. It seems you are eager to decry violence in demonstrations but have no qualms about displaying equally abusive behaviour on line.

In response to your comment, the ‘constitutional limitations’ you refer to don’t apply at the moment as the dictatorial measures are being introduced by the small group of people (not party) now in power. I think that would be fairly obvious to most, although perhaps not you.

    Calm down. Think.

Ha hah! So you equate calling someone out for being pedantic pompous (and wrong) using the same 'dictionary definition' argument you tried to use on someone else to rioting attacking police, burning vehicles and breaking Covid rules. OK!!

Amazing how some on here, when caught out talking nonsense, fail to respond to the criticism , instead to resort to the old... you are abusive . If you think being accused of 'talking out of your backside' is gross abusive behaviour then God help you!!

P.S. 'Dictatorial measures' are not the same as living under a dictatorship. and even that is debatable given the Covid sitaution calls for drastic measures and rapid response.

I wasn't responding to someone else about rioting, attacking police cars, burning vehicles or Covid rules. I used the dictionary definition to point out Patel's use of the law. Burning Red sky responded to that - and I might add in a more reasonable way than you seem capable of doing.

Read what people say carefully and then think. That way - and if you can can control your quite obvious anger - you might avoid becoming the very sort of person you seem to rage against.

The right to protest, however is " kill the Bill" protest a right ? Is the message not classed as " Hate" attempting to set fire to police vehicles whilst officers are still inside? Its no wonder they are leaving in their droves, probably one of the most thankless jobs going, ( not by me though) should have re introduced the water canon and hosed the rats down

Pompous arrogant, condescending AND hypocritical. I am not angry. However I do not remain silent when someone Is patronising towards me which you were on at least two occasions. e.g. "something obvious to most people but not you" and the repeated instruction to me to " think". Something I am quite capable of thank you very much. At least I do not resort to snide patronising comments hidden in language. I call a spade a spade. You do not know me so my "obvious anger" really isn't except possibly in your mind. I quite enjoy debate and the anger and cynicism and negativity displayed on this board by quite a few would be a more appropriate target for that accusation. Have a good day.

Thanks for that correction. It's a shame it's not in red pen teacher. You'll be on here all day correcting people's grammar. Well done though.

Ah..I get it ...if someone joins the site and doesn't go along with the views that are expected, then you go through a spelling and grammar check? How hilarious to me and sad for you. I'm sure you ll find some enjoyment. Small minds xx

Thanks. I think your reply is the post of the year.

“I do see your point.” We might not agree but neither of us are ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ we’re expressing our views.

We’ve had a short, heated debate without resorting to personal insults and you say you see where I’m coming from. In the same way, I can see where you’re coming from when you mentioned old-fashioned values and victim culture. I think we’d find we have far more in common than what separates us. In fact, if we were having this debate in a pub, I’d buy you a pint.

Yes, I do sound pessimistic but I hope and expect none of that stuff about dictatorship to happen. Best to be on your guard though.

Thinking about it, if we were in a pub, it’s possible someone would overhear what we were discussing, get the wrong end of the stick, start screaming about how they were right and kick the table over. But that’s pubs. And message boards.

First off, I've no idea if you've just joined the site. As for whether your views go along with the expected, there isn't any 'expected' on here. It's a forum that pre-dates many folk who now use it. The most successful, long-running BFC-dedicated platform for Reds fans. I've been on here and its previous iterations for over 20 years. Had myriad debates, arguments and wonderful conversations.

If indeed you have just joined the forum, may I suggest you don't get in a strop the first time someone disagrees with your view.

For the record, I neither agree or disagree with your view. I hadn't contributed to this thread until that last post. I just saw an opportunity to have a bit of fun.

Because life's too short. Like my penis.

    Welcome to the BBS.

Cheers mate. These are hard times which create a lot of high emotions at both ends of the scale. Conspiracy theories can take over and doom just appears over the horizon. My view is let's stay positive, use common sense and we'll all be ok. I really don't look into the minute detail of life because most often it's beyond our control.
Ps..I only have one topic of conversation in a pub so we'd be ok
