    Hello, another new member here!

    My real name is Chris and I've been reading this site for years and have finally joined. It’s been good to have somewhere to keep up to date with all things Barnsley FC and indeed all things Barnsley in general.

    I’m born and bred Barnsley (well Brierley/Shafton to be precise) but have lived down south since the 1990s so only get to games when I can. My first game was Barnsley v Wimbledon in the 1978/79 season (think it was bonfire night) which we won 4-1, taking us to third in the table. We of course got promoted that season under Alan Clarke and have thankfully never been in that division since. (Although came close in 2003, if it wasn’t for Isiah Rankin scoring that last minute winner and saving us against Brentford).

    I’m now living in Chandlers Ford in Hampshire, and my local team is Eastleigh FC, A club trying to get into the football league and did come close a couple of seasons back. Am hoping there’ll be a local fixture against Southampton next season, one can dream.

    Hi Pompey Red, yep that was me! My brother and a friend who is a fleetwood fan were visiting for the weekend so took them to see some local footy. Never expected to meet another reds fan there! Such a small world!
