I came up through the youth system back in the day, when we had to make do with an email mailing list. I'm at the other end of my career now and these new fangled message board things are befuddling. Suspect I'll be watching the threads from the bench mainly, perhaps coming on for a comments toward the end, trying to keep up with the pace and not make a tit of myself. If it doesn't work out I'll be out on loan to the Tykes Mad forum before you know it.
This is like when Bradford fans tried to take the Ponty back in the late 70s. Just slipping in, one by one, till they've got the numbers then kicking off. Check their IPs.....I bet they're all from Wigan.
I think Gally would happily get shut of me but no other forum in the Football League will take me. My contract is water tight as well and he doesn't have the big bucks to pay me off.
We can flog a few to Owls talk and make a tidy profit. Also we need to check the spreadsheet to see where our next members are coming from.
Joking aside, are you allowed to say why the BBS was in lockdown to new registrants or will it be shrouded in secrecy for evermore?
We all saw Gally posting about the BBS on Facebook and demanded access to the BBS. We've been reading for years. We know all your secrets. Or I did/do, anyway.
As with everything if you have the floodgates wide open permanently you're creating a lot of risk and additional policing from people who are just doing it because of a passion for BFC on a volunteer basis. I can assure you it's zero fun being accused of being a racist because you don't delete or ban what someone deems offensive. Nor is the prospect of having to ban someone who you might bump in to at Oakwell or away games. I think the BBS has been a pretty friendly place recently, although it has it's moments, so opening the doors for a short while seemed an easy thing to manage.
Did you not get the memo for the new covid secure entry? You were definitely on the list last time I checked
