Looking like it’s the Celtic job for him. What is everyone’s opinions of how he may get on? I’ve heard of him but no real knowledge of what like as a manager.
Got Bournmouth promoted through the divisions to the PL, had a stint at Burnley but can't remember how well or not he did
Struggled up north at Burnley. Not sure how he’ll fare in Glasgow. The season Celtic have had it can’t get any worse for him next year. Personally I would’ve liked to have seen Celtic go for Chris Wilder, I think he would’ve been a better fit for the club. Good luck to Howe, linked with a lot of big jobs in the past, including the England job at one point. So fair play to him for finally landing one of the big jobs out there. Wish him all the best.
Seemed passionless to me on the Bournemouth touch line , hardly saw him react to incidents on the pitch . May have a different approach at Celtic but I’d say they like their managers to react to on pitch incidents especially in the old firm .
Possibly mate but he has to win every game. As you saw latterly Celtic were losing and dropping points on a regular basis resulting in Brown getting replaced. If he was to go into games expecting to beat any team he might get a shock
I’ve never rated him, spent a fortune in getting Bournemouth through the leagues then wasted millions once up there. Didn’t like it up north at Burnley and seems like a home bird. Can’t imagine him lasting long at Celtic, they’ll soon be on his back and he never had that at Bournemouth. Always comes across as a bit soft to me, which is fine, but not if you want to manage Celtic.
It’s a completely different ball game here mate. First of all his religion will be questioned. His wife’s religion will be questioned. His kids if he has any might get grief at school. It’s a horrible gold fish bowl. Pressure to succeed will be non stop. It’s not a job or life I’d would want.
He worked miracles at Bournemouth. Fair play and a fantastic manager there. Some times I reckon people are suited to a certain place (Redders at Oakwell). It went boobs up at Burnley. I can't see the Celtic thing coming to fruition but if it does then I'd wish him well. But with Celtics squad demishioning I'd back Rangers for years to come.
He built things from L1. 2. 10 years ago. Apart from the year at Burnley. Nobody can take his history and achievements away. You've got to doff your cap to him. It ended not the best but doesn't that happen to all managers? He was a 'kid' when he started out in management.
Agree with all of this, Bournemouth’s rise wasn’t a miracle it was economics. Had a good friend who scouted for Burnley, said he was a disaster there, changed everything and none of it fir the better.
