That's the games against the current top 6 over and done with (until the final game). Luton have been something of a bogey team for us this past couple of seasons, since our 3-2 win at Oakwell against them. That being said, we've a very good away record against Luton. We're unbeaten in our last 8 league games at Kenilworth Road, winning 6 of those. We've only experienced 1 league defeat in 12 there too, stretching back as far as 1968 (5-0 back in 1993). In terms of current form, Luton have won just 2 of their last 7 home games (Wednesday and Coventry). Prior to that, they were unbeaten in 7 at Kelinworth Road, including a 3-1 win over Norwich. They're the 14th best home side, and we're the 5th best away side. We go into this one, having won our last 5 away matches. We've scored 3 times in the last 3. It's been evident to me for a while that we're better away from home for some reason. As we found out at Kenilworth Road last season, Luton have a good habit of scoring first, and then defending to the hilt. So we need to make sure we get the first goal. I'm going for 0-1, with Morris on the scoresheet early in the 2nd half.
Im expecting another tough game and as is becoming the "norm" their experience will again be used to influence the ref. Ill be happy with a point.
Win needed ill go 2.1 barnsley start the most effective 3 forwards though val. Either Freiser or woodrow with Morris and dike go for the jugular
Don’t like to make predictions cos I’m basically crap at them. However, I do think it’s a game we need to win given a tough looking home game v Boro is next up.
I think a win is due after the last 2 games. Wednesday was really disappointing, Reading was a fair draw in the end against a decent side. I worry about defensive mistakes because the high press means you can get quickly caught out with no one back, so I'm going 1-3. Styles, Woodrow, Dike on the scoresheet for the reds. Luton's comes from a back-pass that Brad misskicks, skies it with back-spin so when it lands the bounce takes it backwards over his head into the net.
I think our little blip will come to a end on Monday, I'm going for a win by 2 clear goals 2_0 or 3_1 COYR
I’m going to 2-1 to the Reds. Be nice to get the 1st goal so we’re not chasing the game. Woodrow & Morris to score.
4-5 to us. Cauley hands Chaplin the ball to get his hat trick with a pen, late on. Place your bets now whilst odds are good. 2500/1
That is exactly my view of the scoreline. Big bonus that we are away from home, which plays more to our counter-attacking. We haven't always enjoyed the best of it against Luton in the last couple of years or so, but I am very confident of us winning this encounter.
