We are rightly chuffed to be where we are now and more so seeing as we have one of the smallest budgets in the Champ.
However what do you think would have to change to see us take our place in the Prem?
One of the main things that immediately comes to mind is the restoration of the old wooden stand. It could be farcical if we cannot provide full facilities for people who want to watch.
Is anything currently being done with this in mind?
This of course all depends on whether fans are allowed back.
Then there's players. I'd love to give those who got us there the chance but are they, or could they be, good enough?
I'm jumping the gun somewhat but never mind.

If we're promoted (I don't think we will be), there is no way that a new stand could be erected in time for the start of next season. Logistically impossible.

I don't think we'll go up either. Even if we do make the play offs, you still have to win them.

Begs the question, why was I so wound up at Luton's goal yesterday?!

Agree re stand. Purely hypothetical but if we get up, don't blow too much cash, come back to championship stronger and in a better position to have another go.
Love winning and hope we get in and win playoffs, but won't be too upset if we fail. Premier league has all the things I dislike about football inc var.

    Agree with that .
Spend enough on wages and new players to give us a chance to compete but hold a reserve and make contracts sustainable if we are relegated .
Use the money left to build the infrastructure and a team to compete in the Championship and establish us a top half Championship team .
Once all this is in place it gives a better chance the next time if ever we reach the Prem.

I think there is a good chance we will go up - whether we are ready or not is another matter.

The ground would deffo need a spruce up - especially with regards to what we do with the Beautiful Old Lady, or how we best utilise her.

The squad - I'm sure the current bunch would be up for holding their own against anyone on any given day (see Chelsea game) but whether they could adapt and sustain that EVERY week is another matter. It could be the making of some of our squad, and the breaking of others. A brutal place, is the Prem. Harsh reality is we could treble every players salary and still be by far the lowest payers.

The gaffer himself has to be able to adapt too. We have been brave this year and played a style with the attitude that other sides have to worry about us - not vice-versa. It's worked, and the swagger has been great to see. We can't be that brave (daft? arrogant?) in the top tier, we would need a plan B and C at the very least, as Wilder and Bilic found to their cost this year.

Interesting times, and I now believe the club will give it their best shot at getting everything in place. It was hard enough for us in the DW Prem season but it has evolved another several notches since.

I’m going to put my Kevlar body suit on for this. IF we managed to achieve the impossible and get promoted, I personally think our strategy should be more than ever, creating long term sustainability in the 2nd tier. Not $punking the lot on wages and agents fees, in some mad hope that we could survive in the PL

I think we would need to look at the bigger picture. Spending a bomb on players and wages would be no guarantee staying up, so I'd say the best bet is to copy the Norwich model, and look at it over a number of years. Improve the team and facilities slowly while hopefully yoyo between leagues, until we're (hopefully) good enough to compete.

Regardless of how we're doing it I think there's good chance we'll make the play-offs. Once there it really is a lottery. I'd give us a one in four chance of winning them, or is it one in three given we'd only play two other teams.
If we went up we'd be presented with the same problem we have in this league in the one above, though we have good players we can't afford absolute top quality players so we'd be looking to employ a similar sort of system to maximise our chances. I'd say having Ismael in charge would give us our best chance but there would have to be some upgrades on the pitch to implement this system at a higher level.
It would be an exciting journey for the club and us fans that's for sure.

Compete where and against who? Spending enough to be competitive in the Prem would make us financially unstable.

I'd love us to build a stand around the wooden facade as a nod to the past.

    Not necessarily ,
An upgrade in the type of player we are now buying and able to carry out our coaches instructions and tactics .
It’s doing just as we are doing now really .
According to lots of people we shouldn’t be able to compete in the Championship with the players we have but the tactics have given them a chance to compete and that would go for the prem imo .

Really torn on how I feel the Prem isn’t my cuppa tea nowadays especially VAR the inevitable increase as a supporter in the years after !
If we don’t make the play offs will be gutted as it will be a major disappointment from where we are, to lose in the play offs and or the final equally disappointing!
Life was easier when we were ****

I certainly don't think we should get ahead of ourselves.

It's incredibly tight and we've still got to get plenty of points on the board. And if we do make it, we've then got to beat 2 of the teams who make it into the play offs with us. Long way to go, and we're far from guaranteed making the playoffs yet with some tricky games.
