That’s a great analogy - a simple plan executed extremely well.

I find other fans forums and some of our own don’t give us the respect we deserve tbh.
Mostly it’s lazy fans who’ve probably watched u twice and took note of bitter rival managers of our style and wrote something on their forums .
Fortunately there’s lots of fans in these rival forums that can actually see for themselves what we’re about and put these posters to rights .
We’ve both been good to watch and frustrating at times just as all the teams in the leagues, we are no different but when under scrutiny as we now are.
We are not a boring team though we can be at times nor are we a confident ball retaining defence unlocking team though we can be .

nice reading mostly. most of the fans on that stoke thread give us lots of respect. couple on there with lazy comments like 'owner is a billionaire', but they've been called out pretty swiftly. few on there with the 'don't give a fk about Barnsley' view as well, which I get. I'd be a bit puzzled, if there were entire threads on here, dedicated to love-ins for other teams.

Difference between love ins and facts though tbh.
I read other posters views about rival clubs on here and there certain posters I just bypass because of all the cliques and lazy assumptions .
I prefer to read factual or as near as and genuine opinions tbh.

Said before, a few sides know what's required to beat us, but none have managed it since we got the system working. Blackburn were close to scoring with some good balls in behind but just failed. Bournemouth scored but still lost. When we did lose to weds we were just poor on the day.

The way Leicester play is different from us in so far as they play a lot of balls into the channels for Vardy. We tend to put balls into the opponents third and try to win the second ball.

    This!

I watch with awe as we tear about the pitch breaking up play. It is very exciting for me as a reds fan, as we always seem to be in the brink of scoring.... or conceding.

How anyone can think it’s not great to watch is beyond me. I have watched other games of football this season and got bored, or turned over as they seem to be in half speed.... I’m used to the action and endeavour of our fantastic players.

Just because we don’t play tippy tappy football from the keeper does not make it bad to watch. I think it’s a thrill a minute! What we don’t get credit for are the skills of our team. They can and will take on a player and beat them. Sometimes with skill, sometimes with tenacity, sometimes with pace.

It seems like ages that ago that I was this positive going into any match, especially in this division.

yep. knowing how to beat us, and being able to do it are two very different things. everyone has our style sussed now, but teams just don't seem to have the players to unlock us. Jed Wallace's assessment of us on the Not The Top 20 podcast was very glowing.

opinions innit. depends how you define 'great to watch'

personally, I've found us hard to watch during most games. not all game, every game, but definitely sizeable periods. leather the ball forward, press. for 90 minutes. totally agree this means much of the ball is in the oppositions half. totally agree it's dizzying at times, watching our intensity. but also, a lot of the time the ball goes sailing straight to their keeper. a lot of the time is spent heading the ball about. at the pace we play, we also give the ball away. a lot. granted we usually get it back just as quickly. the intensity also means a $hit load of niggly fouls and lots of stop-start. we now seem to be perfecting the art of defending on the half way line as well...so lots of offside to boot

we've been immense this season. beyond anyone's expectations. I just don't personally think it's that great to watch.

I'm enjoying this season but I must admit if I could choose the style of play I prefer the more free flowing, play it to feet and defence splitting passes.

It's great going into matches expecting to win though and I do think if we'd actually been in the ground to watch with all the atmosphere and chanting it would have been 100% more enjoyable.

summat else I find fascinating. would we have been as successful, with crowds as normal? would the crowd have fully got behind our style of play, or would 'gerrit daaaarn' and boos at half time with the score at 0-0, get to the players?

I think there would have been shouts of get it down but I think they would have been drowned out by positive noise.

Conversely, I found Lee Johnson's tactics of keeping the ball along the back 4, very difficult to watch. Also going several home games without barely managing a shot on target. Give me Valerien's football any day

I wouldn't swap it either. 64 points from 33 games is what we all look at. was just trying to explain why people might not find it great to watch.
