With my busy schedule I think its a few lagers and the masters golf this afternoon/evening.

Who do we fancy to win it?

I'm thinking Johnson, Spieth or Thomas. Watching Dechambeau will be interesting to see how he plays the course.

    McIlroy 18-1
    Westwood 48-1

Rahm has a decent chance as does Schauffele , long shot for top ten Stewart Cink 400-1 won recently and has had some decent finishes . Brits with a chance Casey , Fitzpatrick

    A few stats....

    • Between 1990 and 2019 the winner on all but 5 occasions had a top 20 finish in at least one of the previous 3 competitions.
    • Only once in the last 8 years has the winner not had a top 10 finish in the previous 3 events (Garcia) beforfe winning the Masters.
    • Only 8 times since 1990 has a player missed a cut in the previous 3 events and gone on to win.
    • Also, rarely does the winner come from outside the top 20 in the world. As far as majors go it's one of the easier ones to predict.
    • Driving isn't *as* important round Augusta that other places. Long iron play and putting is more important.
So, I'd certainly be having money on Westwood, Casey and Speith for a top 10 finish especially as they all play well round Augusta. To win.....Thomas, Rahm.

Morikawa, maybe as he's played well but experience counts round Augusta, so maybe not. Outside bet for a good finish - Webb Simpson.

I hope Bryson doesn't win. I've never really taken to him and all his talk last time that it was playing as a par 67 "for him" made him look a bit silly in my opinion.

As others have said, Rahm is a good shout. I like Casey too, could well be top Brit.

I wonder if it could finally be Rory's year?

All over the Masters this weekend so will probably join you.

My first objective with any major is #AnyoneButReed, then I prefer Dustin Johnson to be way down the leaderboard, before looking at what Brits or Europeans I can support.

Spieth is hard to ignore on the back of that recent win and I'd love love love Westwood to do it. Rahm is a good shout. I'll be cheering on Tommy Fleetwood as always though and then picking my tip after the cut.

Also, here's some stats on winners at the end of each round and how many shots off the lead they were.....Anyone more than 4 shots off the lead at the end of the first round is probably best forgotten..

Rahm just become a dad, so him or Spieth but I only watch Masters and British Open so know little about the players really.

Not sure about Spieth he’s been in better form recently but his win last week was in a sub standard field and his driving at the end was bit dodgy under pressure. Mcilroy for some reason has been messing about with his swing with different coaches , always has a chance but needs a decent start which has been his down fall in recent tournaments leaving him too much to do , if he’s in contention going into the last round he might do it

If Koepka is fit, then he'll be hard to kick out of the top 5. His mental approach is unreal and his record in the big events top notch.

just watching masters greens virtually unplayable if you are a touch out of position, making some of these pros look like amateurs.

Watching Jordan Spieth hitting a tree and ending up behind where he started has definitely made me feel better about my golf. :D

How much were they building him up there? I know he won the Texas tournament last week but he hasn’t being playing well for years but they were making him sound God like. Mere mortals can’t take this shot on ......... and then he hit the tree in front of him.

Augusta back to it’s brutal best. A definite far cry from what they faced in November for sure.

And yet up until that last birdie that we’re still spending more time waxing lyrical about Jordan Spieth.

Sheer masterclass from Rose. Some of this approach play has been incredible.

And the amount of time they have mentioned Tiger Woods and how he once played shot from X position 20 years ago is unbelievable. Been watching it since 3
