Mr C stands for Clampit, this week, trolleying loads of crap from one t’ t’other. Wentworth Hillbillies, forever..
You need to subscribe to my other podcast Paul, it’s called “Bossman’s simple solutions to moving house”
It’s horrendous isn’t it? Didn’t bother me moving 3 times as a student as I didn’t have that much stuff but when we bought this house we had 9 years worth of stuff we’d accumulated together to move. We only moved literally over the road (we bought the house exactly opposite where we were renting) but that meant having to carry everything across ourselves as you can’t exactly hire movers for that distance!
Me and the good lady have moved 8 times in the last 13 years and each time we have less and less as we always have a good clear out of the stuff we bought thinking we needed it but actually didn’t. That said, it is not much fun packing and unpacking stuff and things
Blimey mate! I've only moved 4 times in nearly 40 years and the first time was to a furnished rental property and I didn't have anything apart from the clothes I stood up in - literally!
We would never have managed it without a folding flatbed trolley thing I borrowed from work. It was an absolute life saver meaning we could take multiple boxes at once and we’d have had no chance with the tumble dryer otherwise! I don’t envy you.
I’ve borrowed one of those. Made about 50 trips this week. My box of oil paints fell off & the tubes rolled into the busy road. I managed to stop traffic before they all got squished.. That would’ve made a heck of an abstract painting. Might try that one day, throw some canvas down first.
I must’ve moved a dozen times, mainly in London, where private rented property is rarely long term. I got this house 5 years ago. Had a stroke 2 weeks after moving in & have been on back foot ever since. It needed so much work, I wasn’t able to do. Now damp & structural problems have gone too far, hence the move. It should have had a full refurb before I got it. Luckily the new one has & I can move straight in.
