I’ve seen photos on twitter of Labour MP’s such as Stephanie Peacock going up to help out with canvassing in Hartlepool. There’s literally no grass roots members doing it anymore. I can’t say I blame them, so many of them gave up hours & hours of their time before the last two elections to try & get elected only to turn on the news & seeing Labour MP’s sabotaging their own election chances. They’ve killed the party.
Hyperbole aside I don’t think it’s unfair to say that Starmer alienated many of the people who usually do the foot soldier door knocking role so they are struggling for numbers. This week I’ve had 8 texts and 10 emails asking for help and I stopped being a member in December. When I was a member I never had the same level of desperation
JimmyViz is right. My mum & dad have had the same emails. The party’s on its arse. They’ve managed to upset & drive away Labour Party supporters who’ve voted for them for decades. With the way it’s going they’re going to be more right wing than the Tories when it comes to the economy
You can bet the Tory's will be sending busload after busload of canvassers up to Hartlepool just like they did in the last election.
Well they did once hang a monkey because they thought it was an alien, so nowt caps me about them being goose-stepping right-wing Torys
to quote the middle class ******* I’m politically homeless. A rehash of Blair wrapped in the flag isn’t for me.
Pluss at least another 10 years of Austerity and the country run by the worst government, not in a lifetime but ever. The working class really are their own worst enemy
Indeed. It's pretty telling when I'm sitting here longing for Blair and Brown, and even now thinking that Cameron, Clegg and the Con-Dem coaliation weren't actually too bad.
